The Marketing Specialist position performs general marketing activities such as writing, webinar & event coordination, website updates, graphic design, social media posts, and working with our industry and service niches to develop and implement strategies to grow their practices.


This role is responsible for working directly with management and staff across all areas of the firm to support marketing efforts and requires the ability to work independently and provide appropriate guidance on various marketing matters that impact the firm’s brand and reputation both internally and externally to clients and the public. The Marketing Specialist will work in conjunction with the Senior Marketing Specialist and will report to the Director of Marketing.

A Day in the Life of a Marketing Specialist...

  • Write and edit email copy, marketing materials, blog posts, newsletter articles, and press releases.
  • Write engaging social media posts and schedule them for posting on our social channels (Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram).
  • Plan, promote, and execute webinars and in-person events.
  • Prepare and manage business proposals. Work with Members and Managers to draft, edit, and finalize proposals. Coordinate delivery and track outcomes.
  • Build and distribute email newsletters and marketing emails, including pulling analytics to measure engagement and campaign      effectiveness.
  • Write keyword-rich web copy that drives the right visitors to our site, and make routine website updates.
  • Support the tracking and analysis of website consultation requests, including maintaining internal records, coordinating follow-up efforts, and performing periodic reporting.
  • Edit and coordinate mailings to clients and prospects, including layout design, production, printing, and distribution.
  • Maintain the firm's marketing-related mailing lists.
  • Execute marketing and communications campaigns; pull reports and analyze data to measure campaign effectiveness.
  • Plan and coordinate seminars, speaking engagements, receptions, trade shows, etc.
  • Attend marketing-related continuing education seminars/classes/webinars as necessary and available.
  • Maintain brand standards throughout all brand touchpoints.
  • Maintain a strong employer brand to show others why SEK is an awesome place to work.
  • Other marketing, lead generation, and marketing-adjacent administrative tasks as needed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of marketing and communications experience.
  • Ability to research, analyze, plan, and execute marketing and communications campaigns and their effectiveness.
  • Functional experience across the core digital marketing pillars (web, SEM/SEO, social media, marketing automation, and data analytics) and how they’re used together to generate leads.
  • Experience with email marketing and marketing automation.
  • Experience with social media management, including social media strategy to create compelling, engaging posts.
  • Strong organizational skills; proven ability to plan and organize work and meet deadlines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; background in business writing a plus.
  • Highly organized, creative, and able to excel in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to work alone and collaborate with other marketing department members and multiple firm executives.
  • Experience working across all communications channels with a strong focus on digital tools.
  • Knowledge and experience working with Adobe creative software (including InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop) and Canva a plus.
  • Willingness to travel between offices for execution of occasional in-person events.
  • A positive attitude and flexibility to work on a variety of projects.
