Job Summary

The Associate Director of Admissions for Marketing & Communications serves as the strategic lead for all marketing, communications, and digital engagement initiatives within the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. This position is responsible for the planning, development, execution, and assessment of comprehensive, multi-channel communication strategies that support recruitment, enrollment, and the university’s overall strategic goal.

This role leads the development of targeted messaging across the admissions function, ensuring alignment with institutional branding and responsiveness to evolving student demographics and market trends. The Associate Director supervises communications staff (professional staff, graduate assistant, and undergraduate student workers), collaborates extensively with campus partners, and serves as the primary liaison to University Relations and external vendors.

Strategic Leadership & Oversight

  • Serve as the office lead and strategic planner for all admissions marketing and communications initiatives.
  • Exercise full decision-making authority in the absence of the Director.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive, data-informed marketing and communications strategy aligned with enrollment goals.
  • Lead weekly communications planning meetings.

Communications Strategy & Execution

  • Oversee all admissions communications including application notifications, decision letters, and scholarship messaging.
  • Design and manage multi-channel campaigns including email, text messaging, and social media.
  • Develop and maintain drip campaigns for all prospective student populations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license 
  • Master’s Degree 
  • 7+ years of direct college admissions experience
  • Knowledge and experience with SLATE software
  • Experience writing drip campaigns for students, parents, and school counselors
  • History of cross campus collaborations for the purpose of recruitment, yield, anti-melt initiatives and marketing 
  • Ability to travel for recruitment events 
  • Supervision experience including graduate assistants 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing social media accounts (for example Tik Tok and Instagram)
  • Collaboration with University Relations/Marketing on publications, photography, and videos
  • Ability to collaborate and form relationships with community partners, school counselors, and campus offices for recruitment, yield, and communication planning purposes 
  • History of working with vendors

The starting salary range for this position is $85,000.00-$95,000.00.


This position may be eligible for a flexible hybrid work arrangement, permitting a combination of on-site and remote work, subject to applicable organizational policies, operational requirements, and supervisory approval.
