Position Overview
We are hiring a Telecommunications Supervisor for a long-term contract opportunity supporting a large-scale airport technology environment. This role is responsible for overseeing the airportβs telecommunications operations, including cabling infrastructure, voice systems, and telecom support services. The ideal candidate will provide day-to-day leadership for Cable Technicians and telecommunications staff, ensuring reliable delivery of voice and low-voltage infrastructure services while maintaining operational efficiency and service quality.
Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of Cable Technicians and telecommunications support staff.
Assign tasks, prioritize workloads, and schedule work based on operational requirements and service requests.
Serve as the primary point of contact for telecommunications issues, escalations, and coordination efforts.
Oversee telecommunications ticket queues to ensure timely response, resolution, and escalation.
Review work orders, service tickets, and reports for quality, accuracy, and completion.
Coordinate cabling, telephony, and telecom support activities for projects, moves, adds, and changes (MAC).
Ensure compliance with established standards, procedures, and safety requirements.
Maintain documentation related to telecom infrastructure, workflows, operational procedures, and asset inventories.
Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders on telecommunications projects and support activities.
Prepare operational reports, performance metrics, and status updates related to telecom services and workload management.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
5β7 years of experience in telecommunications, cabling, or IT infrastructure support environments.
Experience supervising technical staff and managing day-to-day operational activities.
Strong knowledge of low-voltage cabling, including fiber and copper infrastructure, structured cabling standards, and telecom room operations.
Familiarity with PBX systems, VoIP technologies, and voice infrastructure concepts.
Experience managing service tickets, work queues, and operational reporting.
Strong communication, leadership, and coordination skills.
Ability to serve as an escalation point and provide operational guidance for telecommunications issues.
Supervisory, BICSI, Avaya, or related telecommunications certifications are preferred.
