Job Details The Strategic Communications Lead plays a critical role in shaping and executing the internal and external communications strategy for a managed care organization (MCO) serving government-sponsored health programs, including Medicaid, Medicare, CHIP, and ACA Marketplace plans. This role is responsible for developing clear, engaging, and compliant messaging that supports organizational priorities, enhances member and stakeholder engagement, and promotes the organization's mission to improve health outcomes in underserved communities. Strategic Planning & Execution Develop and implement multi-channel communications strategies aligned with business objectives and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with senior leadership, marketing, operations, government affairs, and compliance teams to ensure consistent and strategic messaging across all audiences. External Communications Craft and oversee messaging for members, providers, community partners, and government stakeholders. Manage public-facing content, including press releases, media responses, newsletters, website copy, and social media campaigns. Ensure all content complies with CMS, state Medicaid agencies, and marketplace communication regulations. Internal Communications Lead employee communication initiatives to improve engagement, promote corporate culture, and support change management. Develop communication toolkits, leadership talking points, and internal newsletters. Campaign Development Support the development and rollout of education and outreach campaigns around enrollment, preventive care, health equity, and benefit utilization. Coordinate with creative teams to produce culturally relevant and linguistically appropriate materials. Stakeholder Engagement Work closely with provider relations, community engagement, and government affairs teams to support external events, forums, and partner communications. Serve as communications liaison during audits, regulatory reviews, and policy changes. Analytics & Reporting Track and analyze communication performance metrics and adjust strategies as needed. Provide regular updates and reports to leadership on communication impact and engagement. Other Duties as assigned. Competencies (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required): Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex healthcare information into accessible content. Proficiency in developing content for diverse audiences, including limited English proficiency (LEP) populations. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced, regulated environment. Familiarity with content management systems, email marketing platforms, and analytics tools. High emotional intelligence, collaboration skills, and a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset. Masterβs degree preferred. AND Experience: 5+ years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, or strategic marketing. Experience within a healthcare, managed care, or government-sponsored program environment is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare, CHIP, and ACA Marketplace program communications and compliance requirements.
