Summary

The Senior Marketing Designer is a key member of the Sparks Marketing team, responsible for concepting and producing high impact visual experiences across digital, social, video, and live environments. This role partners closely with the Creative Director and broader Marketing team to evolve and protect the Sparks brand, elevate our storytelling, and push into new formats including motion, video, interactive content, and AI enabled design workflows. This person needs to be a systems thinker and maker in equal measure: as comfortable building a net new visual territory as they are refining templates, toolkits, and guidelines so our brand shows up consistently across every touchpoint. This role is eligible to work a hybrid schedule 2-3 days per week in office based out of Philadelphia, PA or surrounding regions.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Design, Motion, and Content Creation

  • Translate brand and campaign strategy into bold, modern visual concepts for web, social, video, experiential, and sales enablement.
  • Design and produce high quality assets for marketing campaigns and events, including social and content series, web graphics, keynote and creds decks, sizzle reels, case-film storyboards, email, digital ads, event/environmental graphics, and more.
  • Lead the development of scalable design systems, templates, and component libraries for decks, one pagers, case studies, and thought leadership, ensuring they are easy for the broader team to use and adapt.
  • Create and oversee motion design and basic video/motion graphics (lower thirds, animated type, logo treatments, simple transitions, social cutdowns); partner with editors and motion partners for more complex work.
  • Explore and pilot innovative asset formats (interactive content, short form video, carousels, dynamic presentations) that help Sparks stand out in the experiential and B2B space.

Digital, AI, and Tools

  • Use modern design and collaboration tools (e.g., Figma/Adobe CC, presentation tools, Miro, etc.) to prototype, iterate, and share work efficiently.
  • Experiment with AI tools (image generation, layout assistance, copy support, versioning, and testing) to speed up production while maintaining a high design bar.
  • Help define best practices and lightweight workflows for using AI in the marketing design process (prompting, QA, brand safety guardrails).
  • Brand systems and governance.
  • Champion Sparks’ visual identity and ensure it is expressed consistently and thoughtfully across Sparks and our portfolio brands.
  • Partner with the Creative Director to evolve the brand system over time—testing new typography, layout systems, imagery styles, motion behaviors, and design patterns.
  • Create and maintain brand toolkits, style guides, and template ecosystems for marketing, new business, and internal teams.
  • Provide thought leadership on what “modern” looks like for B2B and experiential creative, with a pulse on digital, social, and experiential design trends.
  • Collaboration and project leadership.
  • Own projects from concept through delivery, managing timelines and priorities in partnership with Marketing Programs Managers and other stakeholders.
  • Present work clearly and confidently to marketing, business development, and executive stakeholders, incorporating feedback without losing the core idea.
  • Direct and QA external partners (e.g., Superside, freelance designers, motion designers, editors) to ensure alignment with brand standards and campaign objectives.
  • Provide informal mentorship, design support, and feedback to other design contributors (RFP designers, coordinators, marketing managers) to uplift the overall quality of Sparks creative.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Digital Media, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of professional design experience, ideally in an agency, in house brand, or experiential/creative environment.
  • Strong portfolio that demonstrates:
    • Brand level systems thinking and visual identity work
    • Modern digital and social design
    • Presentation / storytelling design (decks, case studies, pitches)
  • Some exposure to motion/video or motion forward collaboration
  • Fluency in Adobe Creative Cloud and/or Figma; experience with Keynote, PowerPoint, and other presentation tools.
  • Experience creating motion graphics or partnering closely with motion/video teams (After Effects, Premiere, or comparable tools).
  • Comfort experimenting with AI design tools and a point of view on how to use them responsibly and creatively.
  • Excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to juggle multiple projects in a fast moving, deadline driven environment.
  • A passion for experiential, brand storytelling, and pushing creative into new formats.
