The VisitPITTSBURGH Social Media Intern role offers hands-on experience in the dynamic world of digital marketing. This position works closely with the Social Media Manager to support daily operations, including:

  • Creating engaging content to captivate our audience
  • Editing videos that highlight the vibrant essence of Pittsburgh
  • Crafting compelling copy that tells our story
  • Assisting with influencer and content creator partnerships
  • Managing various administrative and organizational tasks

Essential Functions

  • Develop Engaging Social Media Content: Create eye-catching and compelling content tailored for Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube, showcasing the vibrant culture of Pittsburgh.
  • Monitor and Measure Performance: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for each piece of content and track metrics to evaluate success and optimize future strategies.
  • Assist with Influencer Marketing Initiatives: Provide support in coordinating influencer partnerships and organizing media tours to amplify brand visibility and engagement.

Qualifications

  • Students who are currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program from an accredited college or university and are pursuing the following academic majors or minors are preferred: hospitality, tourism, communications, public relations, marketing, journalism, business, digital marketing, economics or information technology
  • Availability to work 21 hours per week for 13 weeks
  • Reliable transportation
