Introduction

This job listing is related to marketing and advertising, NOT logistics.

Mission Sierra Media is a fast-growing performance marketing agency hiring a remote Meta & Google Ads Media Buyer (part-time to start, with a path to full-time). We manage paid ad campaigns for home-service and growth-focused clients across the US, and we need someone who can take ownership over targeting strategy with real judgment and critical thinking, not just execute a checklist.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Build, launch, and manage Meta and Google Ads campaigns end-to-end for multiple clients
  • Set and refine geographic and audience targeting based on each client’s actual service area and business logic, not generic interest-based targeting
  • Set up and maintain automations in our Go High Level CRM (lead routing, follow-up drip sequences, pipeline/KPI tracking)
  • Create ad graphics and static ad creative using Canva and AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT) for client campaigns
  • Schedule and manage social media content across Meta platforms (Facebook/Instagram), including captions, hashtags, and platform-specific posting cadence
  • Set up and monitor weekly performance reporting for client ad accounts
  • Follow established SOPs for campaign setup, reporting, and client communication
  • Monitor campaign performance daily and optimize for lead quality and cost efficiency
  • Attend 2x weekly team morning meetings
  • Communicate clearly with the internal team on campaign status, results, and any issues
  • Troubleshoot underperforming campaigns independently before escalating
  • Perform other virtual assistant duties as assigned

Work anywhere within the following US hours → South Africa local time (for Duties & Responsibilities):

6:00 AM–4:00 PM US Eastern Standard Time (EST, UTC-5) = 1:00 PM–11:00 PM South Africa Standard Time (SAST)

Desired Experience & Qualification

Desired Experience & Qualification:

  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to independently set and justify geographic ad targeting based on a client’s real service area and business logic, not generic interest, lookalike, or AI-generated targeting suggestions taken at face value
  • Experience correctly configuring Meta Lead Ads campaigns for actual lead generation (not traffic or awareness objectives)
  • Proper researching and marketing skills
  • Strong communication and extreme ownership: resolves account-level issues (ad account restrictions, pixel/lead-form errors, campaign anomalies) independently before escalating
  • Minimum 12 months of advertising and marketing experience
  • Minimum 12 months of hands-on experience running live campaigns in Go High Level or a similar CRM that integrates with Meta and Google Ads (required)
  • Proven experience managing live ad campaigns in Meta Ads Manager and Meta Business Manager
  • Experience with Google Ads Manager
  • Comfortable using Canva for ad creative and graphics
  • Experience with Slack for daily team communication
  • Familiarity with AI tools (e.g. Claude, ChatGPT) to support, not replace, content and ad creative workflows
  • Comfortable recording and reviewing Loom videos for async communication/training
  • Strong English proficiency, both written and verbal
  • Experience with Google Drive/Sheets for file and data management

Nice to have: experience with Dropbox and Frame.io for video asset review and approval workflows, and YouTube/Google Ads channel linking and campaign management

Personality Qualifications:

  • High sense of ownership: resolves problems proactively rather than waiting to be told or escalating by default
  • Comfortable asking clarifying questions rather than guessing or copy-pasting assumptions from a form
  • Detail-oriented; double-checks campaign setup before publishing live
  • Takes feedback and coaching well, and visibly applies it going forward
  • Proactive communicator: flags issues early and offers solutions rather than letting them compound
  • Willingness to learn, grow and be self-taught
  • Ability to follow SOPs and understand tasks conceptually, not just granularly

Package & Remuneration

  • Starts part-time: about 20-25 hours/week (4-5 hours/day), paid weekly
  • Hourly rate: R145-R175/hour (equivalent to the full-time R25,000-R30,000/month range), based on experience
  • Paid training period working alongside current team member on a live account
  • Clear path to a full-time, salaried position as our client roster grows, based on demonstrated performance and proficiency
  • Hours must be tracked via Clockify or a similar time-tracking tool
