The American Diabertes Association (ADA) is seeking a Senior Manager, Marketing and Donor Insights. Reporting to the VP, Direct Response Marketing, the Marketing and Donor Insights will work cross-functionally to drive growth in data maturity and serve as a champion for insight-driven decision-making and CRM data management. The Senior Manager will aid in establishing regular direct response performance reporting across digital and offline channels, support donor file analysis, and collaborate with technology teams in donor data record management.
The ideal candidate will be a hands-on data enthusiast, possessing an understanding of analytical methodologies, data visualization skills, and an inquisitive approach to problem-solving. The candidate will have a proven track record of excellence in data management as well as storytelling, finding patterns and trends in data, defining audience and segmentation recommendations, and shaping marketing campaign and channel optimizations to improve performance.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Champion Data Maturity, Performance Measurements, and Insights.
- Lead progression of Direct Response data maturity, creating executive level dashboards to share visualization and storytelling of monthly, quarterly, and annual donor volume/revenue performance, trending, forecasting and health of donor acquisition and retention.
- Develop Direct Response marketing attribution reporting influencing development of pipeline reporting and 360-degree view of our donor support and engagement.
- Proactively partner with Direct Response Directors, Marketing Managers, and strategic partner teams to identify campaign tracking/reporting needs, goals, and outcomes and deliver ongoing actionable insights and recommendations for optimization.
- Research and disseminate insights related to donor health including acquisition, retention, and revenue by channel, subchannel, and donor types.
- Analyze and recommend solutions to fill gaps in data collection allowing the team to advance donor data maturity. Working closely with VP, internal colleagues, and strategic partners to create and socialize data insights and recommendations in support of team growth goals.
- Keep the Direct Response team abreast of trends and best practices in marketing data analytics and data management.
- Contribute to larger analytics initiatives in support of the organization data strategies, including marketing attribution modeling, AI, and CRM transition.
- Support a growing culture of digital innovation and increase the adoption and use of data to inform decision-making and prioritization of marketing efforts.
Support Donor Data Management.
- Champion the team’s adoption of donor science and propensity models in support of fundraising growth and retention across marketing channels. Regularly collaborate with stakeholders to identify, validate, and activate target donor segments for use in marketing engagement engine.
- Manage relationships with external partner teams (acquisition, co-op, and segmentation support) and data delivery for validation and implementation of campaign data.
- Acquire and support a deep understanding of donor onboarding and operational processes including various acquisition sources and systems, data relationships, and attribution to marketing campaigns and channels.
- Collaborate with IT&S and CRM consulting teams to manage current donor data CRM integration, transition, and validations from Blackbaud to Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud. Identify efficiencies and automations for data ingestion, processing and querying for marketing needs.
- Manage operational efforts within CRM systems such as direct response campaign creation, source coding, and alignment of donor data. Lead internal automation processes for recurring payments, acknowledgements, and premium campaigns.
Other responsibilities as assigned. Lead and/or collaborate on other projects, as required, to map and reimagine data discovery and insights.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree in data science, information systems, business or business analytics, engineering, statistics, or related quantitative field preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in digital campaign analytics, direct mail reporting, and data management required.
- Advanced knowledge of Blackbaud and Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud CRM required.
- Experience with Google Marketing Platform (GA4, Google Tag Manager, etc.) and media tracking and reporting methodologies.
- Must have demonstrated track record of analysis; creating performance reporting, using data to inform business decisions, and operationalizing insights using data analysis and visualization tools like advanced Excel, Looker Studio, Tableau, Power BI, etc.
- Familiarity with data privacy regulations and requirements (i.e. GDPR, CCPA, etc.) and basic data security and handling practices.
- Advanced Microsoft Suite product knowledge (e.g., Powerpoint, Excel, Outlook)
- Non-profit, member association, fundraising, development or related industry experience preferred.

- Demonstrated understanding of the martech stack and relationship to data, with working knowledge of database and related customer data (CRM) concepts.

- Accountability and ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strong attention to detail.
