Position Summary

The Sr. Director of Marketing Operations & Communications is a pivotal leadership role tasked with spearheading innovative digital marketing and communications strategies to advance organizational objectives. This position demands exceptional project management, a mastery of digital channels, and expertise in leveraging AI-driven insights and predictive analytics to maximize ROI. Operating with significant autonomy, the Director will orchestrate seamless campaign execution to elevate brand visibility, drive lead generation, and engage stakeholders. They will establish and monitor KPIs, harness data to optimize performance, and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product Management, Product Marketing, and Business Development, to ensure alignment and measurable success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Development & Execution: Design and implement digital marketing strategies that align with business goals, leveraging AI tools and predictive analytics to enhance ROI and customer engagement.
  • Integrated Campaign Management: Lead multi-channel campaign execution (social media, email, SEO, ABM) to support product launches, customer lifecycle goals, and brand awareness.
  • Budget Oversight: Manage the marketing and technology budget, ensuring expenditures deliver measurable outcomes aligned with strategic priorities.
  • AI-Driven Insights: Utilize AI-powered analytics platforms to monitor campaign performance, predict customer behavior, and optimize marketing strategies in real-time.
  • Content Strategy & Management: Oversee the creation, organization, and distribution of short-form digital content, maintaining a robust content calendar and ensuring accessibility via a centralized repository for cross-functional teams.
  • Brand Consistency: Enforce brand guidelines across all marketing materials, communications, and external websites to ensure cohesive messaging.
  • SEO & Website Optimization: Drive SEO strategies to boost organic traffic and oversee website performance, collaborating with vendors to enhance usability and conversions.
  • Marketing Technology Stack: Optimize and maintain tools like HubSpot, Salesforce, and ABM platforms, integrating AI capabilities to streamline operations and demonstrate clear ROI.
  • Project Management: Serve as the primary project manager for marketing initiatives, coordinating tasks, timelines, and deliverables to ensure on-time execution.
  • Vendor Management: Select and manage external vendors, ensuring alignment with company goals and project requirements.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Product Management, Product Marketing, and Business Development to align campaigns with product launches and sales enablement objectives.
  • Performance Tracking & Reporting: Establish KPIs, deliver regular performance reports to leadership, and use insights to refine strategies and uncover growth opportunities.
  • Media & PR Strategy: Guide the development of press releases and media strategies to amplify brand presence and align with business objectives.
  • Travel: up to 25%

Minimum Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, Business, Life Sciences, or related field.
  • 10+ years of marketing experience, with a focus on digital marketing, project management, and communications.
  • Proven success in executing multi-channel marketing campaigns and managing budgets to achieve measurable ROI.
  • Direct experience in the life sciences industry (biotech, pharma, CRO, preclinical research, or related).

Skills & Competencies

  • Project management expertise with a track record of delivering multi-channel campaigns on time.
  • Strong analytical skills: ability to track, analyze, and optimize marketing KPIs using tools such as Google Analytics or similar.
  • Knowledge of digital marketing channels including social media, email, SEO, and content strategies.
  • Proficiency in marketing technology platforms such as HubSpot and Salesforce.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute SEO strategies and optimize website performance.
  • Strong collaboration skills to work cross-functionally with Product Management, Product Marketing, and Sales teams.

  • Demonstrated success with Account-Based Marketing (ABM) strategies.
  • Familiarity with AI and predictive analytics for enhancing marketing effectiveness.
