Position Summary
The Public Relations Manager works closely with the Assistant Director of External Communications to develop and implement a strategic media and public relations plan for the firm in the U.S. In addition, this position supports firm leadership on messaging and media outreach around firm initiatives including supporting the strategy an initiatives for the firm’s practices and industry groups.

Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree, preferably in journalism or in a related field
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of work experience in PR and/or media relations; preferably within a law firm environment. Experience in executing media outreach, PR campaigns and promotion of thought leadership preferred.
Skills: Superior project management skills, expert writing and communication skills, demonstrable media contacts, ability to thrive in a fast-paced intense client service environment, knowledge and experience with social media and the technology related to PR and communications is a plus.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Responsibility for future junior members of the PR team. Supervise several of the firm’s PR agencies under retainer.
Equipment To Be Used: Personal computer and other office equipment such as telephone, calculator, fax, machine, copier, scanner, etc.
Essential Job Functions:
Working Conditions: You will be required to work in the office at minimum 3 days per week. Occasionally called upon to work hours in excess of your normal daily schedule. The details of your weekly schedule will be discussed further with your direct supervisor.
Pay Ranges:
This represents the presently-anticipated low and high end of Reed Smith’s pay range for this position. Actual pay may vary based on various factors, including but not limited to location and experience.
