The Keystone Elk Country Alliance (KECA) is a Pennsylvania based 501(c) non-profit wildlife conservation organization. KECA operates and manages the Elk Country Visitor Center. Our mission is to conserve and enhance Pennsylvania's Elk Country for future generations.
We are seeking a skilled and visionary Public Relations Director to lead communication strategies, foster community engagement, and ensure a positive, consistent public image.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute PR strategies that align with the organization’s mission and goals.
- Serve as the primary spokesperson for the organization.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with media, community partners, and stakeholders.
- Create press releases, media kits, newsletters, and other communication materials.
- Manage crisis communications and provide guidance to leadership.
- Oversee social media presence, digital campaigns, and public-facing content.
- Organize press conferences, community events, and outreach campaigns.
- Monitor public perception and analyze PR effectiveness using data and reporting tools.
- Collaborate with internal teams (marketing, development, leadership) to ensure consistent messaging.
- Primary liaison for membership and volunteer program.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in public relations, communications, or media relations.
- Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong leadership abilities with experience managing teams or projects.
- Skilled in social media strategy, content creation, and digital communications.
- Ability to manage crises with professionalism and calm.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
