Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Product Manager with medical device development or product marketing experience to join our rapidly growing Digital Health team. You will work closely with a dynamic team of electrical, software, and mechanical engineers to conceptualize and commercialize innovative medical devices to meaningfully impact the lives of patients with musculoskeletal disorders. This position will serve as a central resource, collaborating cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, quality, marketing, and regulatory teams as products progress from development through commercialization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in product management in the context of medical implants or digital health products. This role requires a balance of strategy, creative thinking, attention to detail, clear communication, and hands-on development.
Essential Functions:
Collaborate with engineering, marketing, surgeon design teams, management, regulatory, and sales to guide products from concept through commercialization
Become an expert in relevant clinical subject matter, including anatomy, pathology, treatments, procedures, and product lifecycle
Develop a deep understanding of customer needs by forming relationships with field sales representatives, managing surgeon design teams, facilitating cadaveric labs, and observing live surgeries
Represent the voice of the customer during development activities such as design input definition, design reviews, usability assessment, and validation testing
Maintain a market analysis for each relevant product segment to evaluate competitive threats and identify product opportunities
Develop and implement a data strategy for digital health products, including the data value stream, regulatory requirements, and legal landscape
Develop and execute a research strategy for pre-clinical and clinical data to support product claims and scientific merit in collaboration with the scientific affairs team and other stakeholders
Coordinate and drive project activities including kick-off meetings, cross-functional meetings, market research and customer discovery activities, design reviews, verification and validation activities, commercialization planning, and product training
Deliver high-impact presentations and product demos to internal and external stakeholders, clearly communicating the digital health strategy, product value propositions, and project updates
Ensure timely and high-quality documentation for each project according to our quality policy and guidance of the FDA and other regulatory bodies
Create and maintain Gantt charts to support the management of each project in conjunction with the engineering lead
Define and execute commercialization strategies including market introduction plans and marketing initiatives for each product launch
Develop marketing and sales collateral, including user manuals, technique guides, product literature, brochures, and training guides
Partner with operations and purchasing teams to source components and manage production through the company’s supply chain, including forecasting and management of inventory
Required Knowledge, Experience, and Skills:
Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of product development or product marketing experience in medical device or a related field OR master's degree with 1+ years of relevant experience
Ability to work independently and as a key contributor in small teams
Excellent oral, written, and communication skills
Motivated self-starter with good time management and organizational skills
Ability to travel up to 5% of the time
Ability to attend surgeries and cadaveric labs
Preferred Knowledge, Experience, and Skills:
Experience in product management of musculoskeletal implants
Experience in product management of digital health products (e.g. wearables or active implants)
