Job Description:

The Color Capability Manager is the primary person responsible for managing the color formulation offering for all refinish segments.  This role leads the creation & implementation of products & processes that ensure industry leading color matches in a way that includes, but not limited to, OEM color formulation & standard match capability.  This will require collaborating with our global colleagues, technical colleagues, product platform managers, application teams, color development labs in multiple regions, and our internal marketing and sales organizations. The Color Capability Manager will report to the global color platform manager.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Forecast color development demand for the North American region and lead the regional teams in the global outlook demand management process.
  • Develop new and effective ways to deliver industry leading matches that take application and formulation into account. Lead the adjacent teams in color development labs, and application specialists at the PDC in the area around color match requirements.
  • Drive introduction of new pigments/toners required to produce high quality/industry leading color matches. Requires working with color development labs, basecoat platform managers, GBT & ARD groups working in pigments & dispersions.
  • Coordinate timing for release of formulations in customer retrieval systems across the global regions. Working closely with global and regional product platform managers.
  • Demonstrates and fosters teamwork with peers and other resources to meet business needs.
  • Determine if color labs have produced the match required for a panel or blendable repair.
  • Adheres to policies and core values such as safety and business ethics.
  • Manages overall expense within designated budget
  • Some domestic & international travel required (<15%)

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or minimum of 5 years of Industry experience
  • Knowledge of both visual and electronic color measurement tools
  • Competent in understanding the industry requirements for accurate color matching
  • Acts with a high sense of urgency, and will be able to prioritize work effectively.
  • Having a good understanding of body shop operations and trends .
  • Self-motivated; must be an effective performer with minimal supervision
  • Presents oneself in professional manner throughout all levels of the organization
  • Must possess strong problem solving, time management and communication skills
  • Business background/acumen and strong customer focus
  • Aptitude to effectively work with others as a contributing member of a team
  • Demonstrates effective written, oral communication, and presentation skills
  • Good interpersonal skills and sensitivity/respect for peoples' differences
  • Has the ability to effectively network internally and with customers
  • Is an active listener and is able to interpret customer needs
  • Possesses good computer skills and can effectively use applications such as e-mail, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Must understand and efficiently navigate Mobius, AxCS, ColorNet/Nimbus.
