About Role 

We are seeking an experienced Principal who can serve a leadership role in our launch and marketing practice areas. The role will include leading projects across both practices, owning account relationships, ensure delivery excellence, leading and training delivery teams, and delivering new business within existing and potentially new accounts. This strategic role is critical to Herspiegel’s continued success and growth within the life science space. 


Primary Responsibilities:  

  • Scope, lead, and deliver consulting projects in marketing and launch including, but not limited to launch plan development, launch management, mock launch, workshop facilitation, brand strategy and annual planning, landscape and situation analysis, qualitative market research and others 
  • Establish, maintain and grow strong relationships with key clients, understanding client needs and providing strategic, high-impact solutions 
  • Develop and execute core business development activities, including development of capability presentations, project proposals, and client negotiations 
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, leveraging industry knowledge and your own network to drive growth and achieve business development goals 
  • Contribute to the evolution of practice offerings across both launch and marketing to enhance practice capabilities and deliver quality client outcomes 
  • Lead external thought leadership (white papers, conference attendance, other) and innovation within the Launch and Marketing practice to drive awareness of Herspiegel’s commercial offerings 
  • Liase across other practice areas (Access, Patient Services, Data, Medical) to drive integrated commercial solutions for our clients 
  • Lead and mentor a high-performing team of consultants, fostering a culture of excellence and quality 
  • Oversee appropriate resources and develop skills of team for quality delivery of various engagements across practice areas 
  • Familiarity with aspects of the commercial needs of commercial customers to deliver launch plans, drive business development, and project execution for launch and in-line products 
  • Provide clients with market insights in various therapeutic areas by leveraging in-depth knowledge of marketing and commercial landscapes 
  • Monitor relevant market trends, challenges, and landscape changes to inform client deliverables and ensure the practice remains at the forefront of the industry 
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in life sciences or related field required, MBA strongly preferred 
  • A minimum of 8 years relevant work experience in marketing or broader commercial delivery with at least 5 in a consulting environment with a proven track record of success and delivering strong sales results 
  • Significant depth of experience in Commercial Strategy, including work in Launch and Portfolio/Franchise/Asset strategy. 
  • Deep customer focused mindset combined with the ability to execute, both individually and by leading cross functional teams, to achieve operational excellence in the face of challenging goals 
  • Solid understanding of the pharmaceutical brand development, strategic frameworks, project management, cross-functional tactical elements of go-to-market and launch plans 
  • High motivation, outstanding work ethic, maturity and personal initiative 
  • Strong attention to detail, with a quality-focused mindset; superior oral and written communication skills 
  • Exceptional leadership, people development, communication, and interpersonal skills 
  • Strong professional presence, able to communicate complex information and concepts succinctly and with impact 
  • Demonstrated leadership role in launch plan development, management 
  • Demonstrated engagement management for marketing strategy projects 
  • Ability to explore innovative approaches amidst a highly competitive landscape 
  • MS Office proficient 

Additional Information: 25% travel may be required
