Job Summary: The Multimedia Marketing Manager will lead the development and execution of a high volume of multimedia products that enhance the university’s brand image, support enrollment and fundraising campaigns, and enhance the university’s storytelling initiatives. Under the leadership of the Senior Director of Creative Services, the Manager will leverage technical expertise and leadership skills to oversee peer, student, and vendor content producers, ensure high-quality on-brand project execution, set the creative direction, manage project timelines, and foster an environment that values collaboration and continuous learning. 

 

Responsible for the creation of digital content, including video, photography, animated graphics, and digital design, and the archiving of these assets, to support the university’s website, various digital platforms, and social media accounts. 

 

Essential Functions:

  2. Creative Leadership: Proactively identify creative opportunities, develop and pitch concepts that support brand messaging and align with the university’s strategic goals, storytelling initiatives, and fundraising and enrollment campaigns. Assist the Senior Director of Creative Services in overseeing and developing student, faculty, and staff content creators as well as contracted photography, videography, and graphic design vendors.
  3. Multimedia Production Management: Establish and build a creative vision and production plan that leverages goals and audience insights into compelling visual storytelling. Collaborate with team members, campus partners, and external vendors on concept development and pre-production activities, which include creating briefs, treatments, scripts, storyboards, and shot lists. Plan and coordinate all aspects of production, including location scouting, equipment selection, and production scheduling. Perform all aspects of field production, including: developing a production schedule, identifying and securing locations, reserving equipment, crew, and making transportation arrangements. Apply motion graphics, typography, and visual effects to enhance storytelling and engagement of video projects, ensure all projects meet accessibility standards, and optimize projects for various platforms, including social media and website embeds.
  4. Content and Equipment Management: Maintain and archive the digital video and photo assets that support content creation. Maintain video/photography equipment inventory. Recommends and/or provides estimates for higher-level equipment purchases, repairs, or maintenance needs.
  5. Graphic Design: Assist the Director of Creative Services with print and digital graphic design projects.

 

Additional Responsibilities: 

  1. Assist the Manager of Communications with the production and scheduling of social media content.
  2. Works with student workers in producing video, editing, and creation for social media content.
  3. Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications/Education: 

  1. Commitment to the mission statement, core values, and goals of Alvernia University.
  2. Bachelor’s degree in visual communications, graphic design, journalism, marketing communications, or a similar field; and 1-2 years of producing video content.
  3. Experience in the areas of audiovisual, video production, filming, and editing multimedia content.
  4. Proficient in the Adobe Creative Cloud Suite - including Premiere, After Effects, LightRoom, Audition, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
  5. Knowledge and familiarity with A/V and lighting.
  6. Experience with photo editing, illustration, vector image manipulation, and motion graphics.
  7. Requires strong artistic and graphics skills. Must have a strong eye and a high aesthetic for graphic and interactive design, typography, and photography.
  8. A self-starter who can work under tight deadlines both independently and as part of a team.
  9. Strong interpersonal skills; work collaboratively with various stakeholders with a diverse group of people.

 

Physical Requirements: 

  1. Attendance is required in order to perform the duties of this job.
  2. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  3. Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
