Position Summary:

 

The Marketing Coordinator plays a pivotal role supporting marketing needs across the organization. This role is focused on providing project management support for social media, podcasts, design requests, and email marketing to help achieve public affairs and organizational goals, advance our mission, and contribute toward positive public policy outcomes.

The preferred location for this role is our Harrisburg, PA office with three days in the office, two days remote.   We may consider exceptional candidates from elsewhere in Pennsylvania. Candidates from outside Pennsylvania must be willing to relocate.  

Key Accountabilities:


Project Management and Marketing Operations

  • Serve as the project management hub for the Public Affairs team, keeping projects on track to meet or exceed team and organizational goals. This includes social media, podcasts, mass emails, website content, design projects, and more.
  • Manage design requests and projects, including one-pagers, brochures, collateral for events, and branded swag items, to ensure projects are completed on time and on brand.
  • Compile metrics for performance reports within the Public Affairs team and for presentation to key stakeholders.
  • Assist with scheduling, invoice submission, and expense reporting in support of the Public Affairs team.

 

Podcast Production and Promotion

  • Coordinate podcast production with vendors to maintain tight publishing timelines.
  • Reach out to potential guests to identify individuals and stories to feature.
  • Schedule shoot dates with guests and hosts to accommodate scheduling needs.
  • Perform tech checks with guests for remote interviews to prevent issues when recording.
  • Conduct research, compile talking points, and propose questions to aid podcast hosts in preparing to record content.
  • Assist with logistics on shoot days, including serving as the primary point of contact for guests and vendors to keep recording on track.
  • Execute promotional tactics for podcasts, including advertising, emails, and social media reels, to help build an audience for podcasts.

 

Social Media and Digital Marketing

  • Create and schedule social media content to keep accounts relevant and engaging, working within the Public Affairs team and across the organization to source content in line with established strategy.
  • Manage graphics and video projects with vendors to produce high-performing social content.
  • Engage with social audiences by liking and responding to comments, following relevant accounts, and monitoring direct messages to help grow our following and retain followers.
  • Promote social content with ad spends to increase views and engagement and help grow audiences.
  • Draft and send mass emails to engage and activate key audiences.
  • Publish content to the website and grassroots advocacy system to keep them up-to-date and informative.

Success Measure(s):

  • Social Media Growth: Content resonates with our target audience(s), ensuring high engagement and audience growth that help to achieve weekly scorecard goals and the organization’s 3-year and 1-year growth goals.
  • Podcast Production: Podcasts are produced and released according to the established cadence to ensure a regular stream of content is shared with audiences in support of organizational podcast goals.
  • Design Requests: Requests are handled promptly in accordance with their priority level to ensure that deadlines are met while upholding brand standards.
  • Email Marketing: Emails are free from typos and links work correctly, helping to ensure that readers have a more positive experience and continue opening and clicking on our emails.
  • Reporting: Reports are produced on an established cadence to inform team members and other stakeholders about the progress made toward achieving goals.

 

Key Competencies:

 

Required Education, Experience and Expertise

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or related field.
  • At least 1-2 years of experience in marketing, communications, broadcasting, or related roles.
  • Alignment to free-market ideas and a passion to see all Pennsylvanians thrive.
  • Experience with social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, and Tik Tok.
  • Familiarity with mass email marketing and publishing content to websites.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility for travel or non-traditional work hours when needed.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a strong ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders;
  • Creativity and an entrepreneurial spirit, with an ability to take on new tasks with minimal oversight and learn quickly on the job.
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to think creatively while delivering results on time and on budget.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, articulating complex issues and messages clearly and persuasively.
  • Experience with cameras, audio equipment, and editing software preferred but not required.

 

Physical Requirements (ADA Compliance):

  • Ability to work at a computer for extended periods.
  • Travel Requirements: Up to 20%. Amount of travel will depend on the employee’s location within PA. A Harrisburg-based employee will have less travel.
  • Occasional lifting of IT equipment (up to 25 lbs).
  • Manual dexterity to operate keyboards, mice, and other office equipment.
  • Visual acuity to read technical documentation and screens.
