POSITION SUMMARY

The Marketing & Communications Specialist is responsible for the development and delivery of clear, timely, and effective marketing and communication campaigns to internal and external audiences.  This role supports marketing, digital content creation, public relations, media engagement, community outreach, and crisis communication efforts.

 

KEY RESPONSIBLITIES

  • Develop and implement strategic marketing plans that align with the Airport Authority’s brand identity and messaging across all public-facing materials.
  • Coordinates with external marketing agencies to deliver impactful digital and static campaigns that align with strategic marketing goals.
  • Draft press releases, media advisories, newsletters, and talking points.
  • Manage all Airport Authority social media channels (X, LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook) and develop content for audiences.
  • Collaborate with regional organizations and tourism partners on joint promotions and initiatives.
  • Produce media content such as videos, graphics, and presentations to support public outreach.
  • Manage online web presence including company websites (FlyABE.com, FlyXLL.com, FlyN43.com, and Intranet), display ad campaigns and email campaigns.
  • Serve as a liaison to local, regional, and national media outlets, responding to inquiries and coordinating interviews.
  • Support emergency and crisis communications, in coordination with airport leadership.
  • Ensure communications compliance with FAA, TSA, NTSB, and other regulatory guidelines.
  • Administer livestream process of LNAA public meetings on FlyABE.com.
  • Maintain YouTube channel with video content of meetings, events, and public outreach projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

External:    Marketing Agencies, Tenants/Prospective Tenants, FAA, TSA, Government Officials, Customers, Media Outlets, Regional/National Organizations

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, public relations or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in marketing, public relations, journalism or related fields.
  • Proficient in marketing tools and platforms including WordPress, Microsoft Office Suite, Mailchimp, and other digital marketing programs.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar graphic design tools is preferred.
  • Proficient in digital communication tools (e.g., social media platforms, email, etc.).
  • Familiarity with crisis communication and public information officer responsibilities preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to speak, write and understand English fluently.  Must be able to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word and convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other people accurately and clearly.
  • Must be able to sit, stand and walk for extended periods; move legs, arms, wrists and fingers, and lift and carry up to 40 pounds, occasionally.
  • Must have sufficient auditory ability, with or without audiological devices, to decipher telephone conversations, interact with others, and receive detailed information through oral communication.
  • Must have sufficient visual acuity, with or without corrective lenses to identify text and colors required for reading and computer use.  Visual acuity includes close, distance, peripheral, and change of focus necessary to read small print.

 

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
