The Marketing Communications Associate supports the development and execution of communications and marketing initiatives that engage employees, distribution partners, and other key audiences. Working as part of the Communications team, this entry-level position contributes to a broad range of work across internal and external communications, digital content, social media, sales enablement, and corporate communications.
Communication Development and Delivery
Supports the development, editing, and production of clear, accurate communications and marketing materials for employees, distribution partners, customers, and other key audiences.
Drafts, updates, publishes, and maintains content for internal and external channels, including email communications, websites, social media, presentations, newsletters, and other digital content using established content management and digital publishing tools.
Supports social media and digital content calendars, including content scheduling, basic monitoring, and coordination of posts and campaigns.
Assists with sales enablement materials, presentations, campaign communications, corporate communications, meeting and event materials, and other content requests in support of business priorities.
Conducts basic research and gathers input from subject matter experts and business partners to help translate information into clear, audience-focused communications.
Applies established brand, editorial, accessibility, and compliance standards, incorporating feedback from team members and business partners.
Content Management
Coordinates project details, timelines, reviews, approvals, and distribution activities under the guidance of team members and the manager.
Maintains communications calendars, content libraries, distribution lists, templates, and other team resources to help ensure materials remain organized, current, and accessible.
Partners with internal stakeholders to gather information, clarify requests, and support the timely completion of communications and marketing deliverables.
Performs quality checks for accuracy, consistency, formatting, links, and audience appropriateness before materials are released.
Collects basic performance data and audience feedback and assists the team in identifying opportunities to improve content and communications effectiveness.
Supports basic reporting on communications and marketing activity, including email, website, social media, and digital content performance, and helps maintain recurring metrics and dashboards.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Related Experience
Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations, journalism, business, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
Up to 2 years of related communications, marketing, content, internship, or project experience.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to develop clear, audience-appropriate content and incorporate feedback.
Ability to organize work, manage multiple assignments, meet deadlines, and maintain attention to detail in a dynamic environment.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn content management, email, social media, and other digital communication tools.
Comfortable working with digital content and communications tools; experience with content management systems, email marketing, social media publishing, analytics, or design tools through coursework, internships, or other hands-on experience is a plus.
Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and internal stakeholders while also completing assigned work independently.
Interest in learning Retirement Services products, audiences, distribution channels, brand standards, and communications practices.
