POSITION SPECIFICS A Marketing and Communications Specialist Supervisor is being sought to serve as the principal brand steward of the College of Education, leading the development of the College's marketing and communication strategies and brand messaging, Changing Education by Educating for Change. The Marketing and Communications Specialist Supervisor will have oversight and responsibility for all marketing and communications initiatives and for creating engaging content that advances the college's mission and enhances its image and visibility to internal and external target markets. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Plan, develop, and execute marketing and communications consistent with the college's strategic plan. Identify needs for marketing and communications, social media, undergraduate student recruitment, and develop plans and materials also to address those needs. Work with College of Education subject matter experts to develop and produce engaging communication materials, including research articles, presentations, print materials, newsletters, advertising, talking points, and social media graphics. Manage the marketing, communications, and social media platforms for the college. Evaluate and assess engagement of media efforts. Work towards increasing engagement on all platforms. Regularly participate in ongoing personal professional development activities to remain well-informed of current trends and best practices. The Marketing and Communications Specialist Supervisor will manage the writing staff while working with a team of communications professionals and supervising college communications operations. After training, the Marketing and Communications Specialist Supervisor will also work with various software including Microsoft Office 365, Adobe Acrobat, web page and social media page design tools, Workday, and PSUbuy (Penn State’s procure-to-pay system). MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS Bachelor's Degree 3+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted Required Certifications: None Application Information: Applicants must submit a resume and cover letter. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. SALARY & BENEFITS The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $51,000.00 - $74,000.00.
