Summary: Responsible for all areas of advertising, social media, traditional media and public relations including, but not limited to: media buys, internal signage, promotional collateral, development of marketing plans, and anything else in relation to PR/Advertising and Digital.  Oversees both internal and external business partners and monitor all advertising campaign effectiveness and trends, manage on-line brand activity and generate reports/updates for senior management. Identification and penetration of new marketing channels. Oversee programs and initiatives that are designed to represent the organization favorably and make positive contributions to the community.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Manages the coordination and placement of both internal and external collateral and communication. 
  • Responsible for all areas of advertising including, but not limited to: social media, media buys, internal signage, promotional collateral, entertainment collateral
  • Ensure accuracy of all marketing, direct mail and promotional campaign collateral.
  • Responsible for handling all on site and off site public relations events in coordination with PR firm.
  • Participates in budget development, monitors advertising and media buy costs, and ensures budgetary compliance.
  • Ensure all advertising is consistent across all digital media platforms.
  • Oversees all outside partners including PR firm, advertising and media agencies and making sure all coordinate and work closely on all projects to ensure business goals are met.
  • Work day to day with media agency ensuring all media is strategically placed while staying within budget as well as new opportunities to grow the Rivers’ brand message.
  • Work with all outside partners including local sports teams and business partners to ensure Rivers’ brand is consistent and staying relevant within the appropriate area as well as ensuring all partnership relationships stay intact.
  • Collaborate with other departments in regards to overall advertising needs and goals.
  • Attend and participate in off property functions and events as assigned.
  • Ensure all brand standards are held to all areas of the casino.
  • Reviews all collaterals, items, and digital messages containing a casino logo to ensure cohesive brand visibility.
  • Takes all steps necessary to ensure the advertising is placed strategically and cost effective
  • Develop a strategy and maintain operational procedures to ensure maximum timeliness of jobs and cost effectiveness.
  • Contributes to department’s effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range issues and goals that must be addressed; providing information and recommending options and courses of actions; implementing directives, ability to create and make presentations both written and oral.
  • Must stay current and understand how our marketplace and our competition affect us.
  • Responsible for maintaining brand standards both internally and externally.
  • Must be up to date on industry standards/practices and have the ability to apply best practices to their department.
  • Performs all other duties as required.

Qualifications: 

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Bachelor Degree in Marketing or Public Relations and/or five (5) years supervisory or management experience in casino advertising preferred.
  • Self-assurance, resilient and tenacious
  • Self-awareness, genuine understand of personal strengths and weaknesses 
  • Outstanding organizational skills are a must, as is the ability to actively manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.  Must thrive in a fast-paced, fluid environment.
  • Candidate must be highly proficient in copywriting and editing proofs for collateral.
