In-Office DE Underwriter

Job Title: DE Underwriter (On-Site)

Location: Pittsburgh, PA

Salary: $80,000 - $90,000 (No Bonus)

Job Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire

About the Role:
Our client, a reputable mortgage lender, is seeking an experienced DE Underwriter to join their team on-site in Pittsburgh, PA. This position requires a detail-oriented professional with an active CHUMS ID and a strong background in mortgage banking underwriting. The ideal candidate will have experience with Encompass, FHA DE, and preferably USDA loans.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and underwrite residential mortgage loans in compliance with FHA, USDA (preferred), and company guidelines.
• Ensure loan files meet regulatory requirements and investor criteria.
• Analyze credit, income, asset, and property documentation for loan approval.
• Maintain clear and effective communication with loan officers and processors.
• Utilize Encompass loan origination system to evaluate and approve mortgage loans.
• Stay up to date with underwriting guidelines, policies, and industry regulations.

Qualifications:

• Active CHUMS ID required (FHA DE Certification).
• Minimum 5+ years of mortgage banking underwriting experience.
• Proficiency in Encompass is required.
• USDA loan experience preferred.
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
