JOB SUMMARY

Position Title: Grant Writer & Content Specialist

Program: Admin/Development

Classification: Exempt/Full-Time

Summary: 

The Grant Writer & Content Specialist is responsible for researching, drafting, and submitting compelling grant proposals that align with our organization's mission, as well as taking the lead on grant reporting. The ideal candidate has strong writing and editing skills, a strategic mindset, and a proven track record of securing funding through grants. In addition to grant writing, this role will be the "voice of CAP" in advancing our organization’s goals through clear, engaging content for various internal and external communications.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Grant Research & Proposal Writing:

    Work with CAP program staff to complete the full range of activities required to research, prepare, and submit grant proposals to government, foundation, and corporate sources.

    Lead community partners on shared grant applications as directed by CDO.

Data Gathering & Reporting:

    Comply with all grant reporting as required by funders.

    Maintain accurate records for grant tracking and reporting.

Organizational Communications:

    Lead institutional efforts on writing for publication, to include but not limited to: Annual reports, statements and white papers, press releases and blogs.

    Manage CAP's "voice" and assist in organizational lexicon reviews and updates

Funder Stewardship:

    Provide stewardship to current funders, including work with Chief Development Officer to provide written updates to funders.

    Make appointments for CDO and CEO with foundation officers and other prospects, arrange for on-site tours for funders.

Development Support:

    Support development efforts, including events, as needed.

    Administrative support, as assigned by CDO.


Education and Experience: 

    BA/BS in a related field required.

    3+ years in writing for publication required.

    Experience writing grants preferred along with a track record of securing grant funding.
