Job Summary: Under the direction of the Communicaton Specialist, the Marketing Content Graduate Assistant will be tasked with contributing content to and analyzing university campaigns and strategies for the Office of Marketing and Communications. This includes, but is not limited to, market research, photography, videography and writing with the opportunity to develop leadership, project management, media relations, graphic design, and website content skills.  

Essential Functions: 

  1. Promote Franciscan ideals and adherence to the Mission of the University as demonstrated by the University Ideal Characteristics.   2. Create content including, but not limited to photography, videography and copy for the university’s social media accounts, website, and Merit Pages, e-newsletter content, email drip campaigns and other digital and print publications.
  3. Create and manage ROI tracking methods for marketing and communications reports
  4. Assist in the facilitation and management of meetings, content shoots, interviews, and event coverage.
  5. Proofread and edit copy for marketing and communications collateral.
  6. Perform other marketing and communications duties as assigned

Qualifications/Education: 

  1. Commitment to the mission statement, core values and goals of Alvernia University
  2. Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or related field and current enrollment in an Alvernia graduate program. Must maintain a 3.0 Cumulative GPA.
  3. A passion for storytelling and marketing, with excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills
  4. Ability to function as a team member as well as autonomously
  5. Detail-oriented self-starter with a willingness to learn, good organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines  
  6. Flexibility to adapt and react to changes in scheduling and projects; availability to work 20 office hours Monday-Friday (8am-4:30pm) and evening/weekend events as needed
  7. Ability to work with various stakeholders and a diverse group of people

Physical Requirements: 

  1. In-person attendance is required in order to perform the duties of this job.
  2. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
