Job Summary:

The EMS Subject Matter Expert – Test Question Author / Reviewer is responsible for providing high-quality test questions in the various styles used in the National Registry of EMTs for the various certification levels (EMR, EMT, AEMT, Paramedic).  The position will also include required review of test questions created by other authors prior to use in the Impact EMS testing platform. Ensuring student comprehension and competency through engaging and relevant test questions in preparation for the NREMT certification testing process.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Responsibilities:

  • Assists in the creation of new test questions in accordance with National and NREMT standards of EMS healthcare.
  • Assists in the creation of new test questions in line with the newest criteria published by the NREMT for all levels (EMR, EMT, AEMT, Paramedic) of certification.
  • Assists in the review of newly created test questions prior to use in the Impact EMS test bank for the various NREMT certification levels.
  • Assists in reviewing and updating current test bank questions in the Impact EMS test bank for the various NREMT certification levels ensuring National and NREMT standards of EMS healthcare are maintained.
  • Provide consistent quality educational processes for students using recognized educational practices, current guidelines and adult learning principles in the creation and review of test questions. 
  • Participate in SME training sessions. 
  • Maintain required documentation of attendance, evaluations, and project progress according to Impact EMS leadership and regulatory requirements. 


 

Qualifications: 

  • Current certification as a Nationally Registered Paramedic. 
  • Minimum of 5 years of field experience as an EMS provider. 
  • Minimum of 2 years of EMS instructional experience (classroom, online, or lab-based). 
  • Strong understanding of adult learning theory, instructional design, and hands-on EMS training. 
  • Comfortable with online learning systems and digital classroom tools.

  • Ability to adapt teaching style to student learning style.

Physical Requirements: 

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

This position offers a starting rate of $40 an hour.
