Summary
As the Director of Marketing and Communications, you will be responsible for the development of strategic marketing plans to promote brand awareness and fan engagement.
Essential Functions
Lead content strategy that is on brand and impactful across our traditional, digital, and social channels to support goals across the organization.
- Oversee the creation of content for websites, social media outlets and marketing materials with the goal of increasing impressions and engagements across all channels.
- Capture, record, and organize material.
- Track Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) and analyse data to assess effectiveness and proactively take corrective action, as needed, to optimize results.
- Keep abreast of latest market trends, technologies, and best practices and adjust strategies to adapt to the changing market and competitive conditions.
Partner with all departments within the organization to ensure cross-platform execution collaboratively supports brand messaging.
- Maintain brand guidelines and ensure consistent messaging across all communication channels.
- Create campaigns focused on growing season ticket, same day ticket and group ticket sales.
- Assist in creation of promotions for the baseball season, unique events, and non-game events.
- Assist in creation of in-game entertainment and promotions strategies.
Possess a thorough knowledge of the competitive landscape and the brand’s competing strengths, weaknesses, and market position.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships within the community, corporate and media outlets, journalists, and influencers to secure positive media coverage.
- Oversee public relations efforts, including media outreach, press releases and crisis communication.
- Manage and allocate marketing budgets across campaigns and initiatives.
- Maintain and update the company webpage.
- This job profile is designed to cover activities, duties and responsibilities required on a regular basis. Other duties or responsibilities may be assigned at any time with or without notice.
Additional Responsibilities
- You will be added to the game day staffing schedule and required to work a minimum of 50% of games scheduled at home.
- Your presence will be required at staff meetings throughout the year as well as annual training and development sessions and seminars.
- You will be required to work special events, non-game day events and holidays as needed. Advanced notice will be given.
- Travel may be required and is dependent upon your specific lines of business and job responsibilities. You may be asked to travel off-site for meetings, events for the purpose of marketing/networking, or non-profit engagements.
Qualifications
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to lead and motivate a team, delegate tasks and provide guidance.
- Ability to establish rapport and build relationships.
- Analytical thinker and planner.
- Proficient in use of Microsoft office suites, excel and photo/video editing software.
Experience and Education
- BA from 4-year accredited college or university.
- Experience working in cross functional marketing.
- Public relations and media relations experience.
- Experience with content creation and marketing materials.
- Experience working in a professional sports environment.
