Location:               Remote: California, Colorado, Arizona, Oregon, Hawaii, Florida and Oklahoma          

Location Status:   Work will be primarily performed remotely from home office. Employee will be required to utilize personal phone and internet services to perform telecommuting with reimbursement according to applicable procedures. Occasional travel to and work from other Race offices or off-site locations may be required.

Summary:

The Director of Marketing is a key leadership role responsible for developing and executing comprehensive marketing strategies to drive business growth and enhance brand presence. This position oversees the marketing team, ensuring alignment with the Race’s overall objectives. The Director of Marketing will manage team administration, provide effective leadership, and foster a collaborative and high-performing work environment. Key responsibilities include developing strategic plans, setting performance targets, overseeing marketing campaigns, and ensuring effective cross-departmental collaboration


The Director of Marketing exercises significant independent judgement, problem solving, and discretion in the development and implementation of marketing systems with minimal direct supervision.  This individual should be able to communicate and work effectively with external service representatives and internal team members who possess a wide variety of backgrounds, personalities, and communication skills. This individual should be able to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced, and evolving environment while effectively managing and motivating team members. This individual must be capable of working independently, as well as collaboratively with other Race team members across teams and levels of our organization.


Qualifications and Experience:

  • Eligibility for US Employment without sponsorship
  • Minimum of 21 years of age
  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in Business Administration, Marketing, or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred
  • Minimum of ten years of experience in marketing roles, with a track record of progressively increasing responsibility
  • Minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership position, managing and developing marketing teams of 10+ members, achieving performance targets required
  • Thorough knowledge of telecom industry regulations and policies, ensuring adherence in all marketing activities
  • Proven ability to develop and execute strategic marketing plans
  • Deep understanding of marketing principles, methodologies, and best practices
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions
  • Proficiency in budgeting, forecasting, and financial management
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience with CRM systems, digital marketing strategies and analytics
  • The ability to effectively communicate in English, including speaking, reading, writing, and comprehension, as necessary for effective job performance and workplace communication
  • Certified Marketing Professional (CMP) is a plus
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) is a plus
  • Digital Marketing Certifications: Such as Google Analytics, Google Ads, or HubSpot certifications is a plus

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

 

Marketing Strategy and Planning: 

  • Develop and Execute Marketing Strategies: Creates and implements a comprehensive marketing strategy that aligns with the company’s overall goals and objectives
  • Marketing Forecasting and Projections: Collaborates with the finance team to develop accurate marketing forecasts and projections
  • Market and Competitive Analysis: Analyzes market data, trends, and competitive intelligence to identify growth opportunities, target market segments, and effective marketing strategies.
  • Marketing Pipeline Management: Develops and manages the marketing pipeline, including forecasting and reporting on marketing performance
  • Pricing Strategies: Works with the executive team to develop and implement competitive and profitable pricing strategies
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensures compliance with all relevant regulations and policies within the marketing industry

 

Marketing Processes and Methodologies: 

  • Establish Marketing Processes: Creates and enforces effective marketing processes, methodologies, and best practices to ensure efficiency, consistency, and optimal performance across the marketing team
  • Marketing Technology Implementation: Implements and utilizes marketing technology tools and CRM systems to enhance marketing productivity and reporting
  • Campaign Management: Monitors the marketing pipeline and provides guidance on campaign management, progression, and optimization strategies

 

Team Management and Development: 

  • Team Leadership: Manages and motivates the marketing team to achieve key performance indicators and objectives
  • Training and Development: Conducts regular training and development sessions for the marketing team to ensure they are equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to meet marketing goals
  • Performance Evaluation: Monitors and evaluates marketing performance against targets and objectives, taking corrective action when necessary

 

Collaboration and Coordination: 

  • Interdepartmental Collaboration: Collaborates with sales, customer success, operations, product management, and customer support teams to ensure seamless coordination and alignment of marketing efforts
  • Cross-functional Initiatives: Participates in cross-functional meetings, initiatives, and projects to drive business growth and customer success

 

Relationship Management: 

  • Customer Relationships: Cultivates and maintains strategic relationships with key customers, partners, and stakeholders through targeted marketing efforts
  • Industry Representation: Represents the organization at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to promote the brand
  • Industry Knowledge: Builds and maintains strong relationships with key stakeholders in the industry

 

Reporting and Analysis: 

  • Marketing Performance Reporting: Provides regular reports and updates on marketing performance, trends, and variances to senior management
  • Industry Trends Analysis: Develops and maintains a deep understanding of the industry, including market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities

 

Budget and Financial Management: 

  • Budget Management: Manages a budget for the marketing department, provided by the Director of Sales and Marketing, that aligns with the company's overall financial goals
  • Expense Monitoring: Monitors and manages marketing-related expenses to ensure cost-effective operations

 

Marketing Strategy and Execution: 

  • Marketing Campaigns: Develops and executes marketing campaigns that align with the company’s marketing goals and objectives
  • Brand Management: Oversees the development and implementation of branding strategies to enhance brand visibility and reputation
  • Content Creation: Supervises the creation of marketing content, including digital marketing, advertising, and promotional materials

 

Digital Marketing and Analytics: 

  • Digital Marketing Strategy: Develops and executes digital marketing strategies to increase online presence and engagement
  • SEO and SEM: Implements and manages search engine optimization (SEO) and search engine marketing (SEM) campaigns
  • Analytics and Reporting: Uses analytics tools to track the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and adjust strategies as needed

 

Public Relations and Communication: 

  • Public Relations: Manages public relations efforts to maintain a positive image of the company.
  • Internal Communication: Ensures effective communication within the marketing and sales teams and across the organization
  • External Communication: Oversees communication with external stakeholders, including customers, partners, and the media

 

Product Management: 

  • Product Launches: Coordinates with product management teams to plan and execute successful product launches
  • Customer Feedback: Gathers and analyzes customer feedback to inform product development and improvements
  • Market Research: Conducts market research to identify customer needs and preferences.

 

Strategic Leadership: 

  • Strategic Initiatives: Collaborates with senior management to develop and implement strategic initiatives that support the company’s growth and success
  • Innovation: Identifies and pursues innovative opportunities to enhance marketing effectiveness

 

Other duties necessary may not include but are not limited to: 

  • Successfully complete assigned training and examinations, as well as participate in ongoing performance and development reviews, and goal setting
  • Be available to participate in internal or external meetings, special functions, and professional development opportunities
  • Cross-train and share knowledge with other team members

Supervisory Responsibilities: 

  • Team Administration: Oversee the administration of the marketing team, including hiring, onboarding, and performance management. Set compensation plans and incentives in collaboration with the HR department. Conduct regular meetings to communicate important updates, changes, and initiatives to both teams.
  • Leadership and Development: Provide effective leadership to the marketing team, setting clear goals, objectives, and performance expectations. Foster a positive and motivating work environment that encourages collaboration, innovation, and high performance. Mentor and develop team members to enhance their skills and capabilities.
  • Strategic Collaboration: Collaborate with executive management to develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies, annual plans, and budgets. Define targets, quotas, and metrics for both teams. Monitor and evaluate performance against targets and take corrective actions as necessary.
  • Ongoing Coaching and Training: Provide ongoing coaching, guidance, and training to enhance skills, product knowledge, and customer engagement. Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to improve individual and team performance. Develop and implement training programs to address skill gaps and drive continuous improvement.
  • Cross-Departmental Supervision: Directly supervise and support employees on marketing matters across multiple departments. Ensure seamless coordination and alignment of marketing efforts with other departments, such as product management, operations, and customer support
  • Directly carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Direct supervision of subordinates includes but is not limited to, interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

All new employees will participate in the mandatory 'Speedway to Success' (Speedway) orientation at one our offices located in either Chico, Farmersville, Lancaster, North Palm Springs, Phelan, Pleasant Hill, San Francisco, Tehachapi, and Yuba City, CA. The duration of the Speedway program spans from 1-3 weeks, depending on the position. During Speedway the schedule will vary; you may not work full 8-hour days and there may be off days. Applicants further than 50 miles from these training locations will be provided with necessary travel accommodations as part of the onboarding process. Applicants 50 miles or less from these locations will be considered regular commute. For those working remotely, virtual attendance will depend on position requirements.
