Work and living support services can and should be delivered to support them how they choose. With the addition of Coffee Inclusive and Bake Inclusive, the Director of Development and Marketing position is needed to bring the organization’s marketing and fundraising to the next level.
Descriptions
The Director of Development and Marketing will serve as a member of the senior leadership team. This position is responsible for leading and managing the organization’s fundraising, development and marketing efforts. This role involves developing and implementing strategies to increase revenue, enhance the organization’s brand, and engage with key stakeholders. The Director will oversee the Development and Marketing Coordinators and work closely with the executive leadership team and board members to achieve the organization’s strategic goals.
Job Duties
- Develop and implement comprehensive development and marketing strategies to support the organization’s mission and goals.
- Collaborate with the executive team and board members to align development and marketing efforts with overall organizational strategy.
- Identify new opportunities for revenue growth and brand enhancement.
- Oversee and manage all fundraising activities, including major gifts, annual giving, corporate sponsorships, grants, and special events.
- Plan and execute a wide range of events, including community gatherings, festivals, catering, and in-house events.
- Manage and oversee the setup, execution, and breakdown of events.
- Manage event budget and ensure cost-effectiveness.
- Develop and deliver a Communications Plan to include website, social media marketing, targeting marketing/advertising, and coordination of employment fairs, provider fairs, walks/runs, and disability events to build our brand in all counties we operate services.
- Research grants and Requests for Proposals that support agency goals, develop and write grants/RFP’s, work with an assigned grant writer, and manage grants/RFP’s when achieved. Work closely with agency staff to complete grant objectives when needed.
- Build and maintain relationships with major donors, foundations, and corporate partners.
- Develop and manage a robust donor recognition and stewardship program.
- Prepare and manage the development department’s budget, ensuring efficient and effective use of resources.
- Lead the development and implementation of marketing and communication plans to increase visibility and support for the organization.
- Oversee the creation and distribution of marketing materials, including newsletters, brochures, social media content, and press releases.
- Manage the organization’s website and digital presence, ensuring content is current and engaging.
- Develop and maintain relationships with media outlets and other external partners.
- Recruit, train, and supervise development and marketing staff, providing guidance and professional development opportunities.
- Manage and lead outside contractors related to marketing and development activities.
- Foster a collaborative and results-oriented work environment.
- Set performance goals and conduct regular evaluations for team members.
- Utilize donor management software and other tools to track fundraising efforts and analyze data.
- Provide regular reports on fundraising and marketing activities, progress, and outcomes.
- Use data to inform and improve strategies and tactics.
- Serve as a key spokesperson for the organization, representing it at public events, networking events, meetings, and conferences.
- Engage with board members, volunteers, and other stakeholders to garner support for development and marketing initiatives.
- Work with the Board of Directors to develop and implement fundraising campaigns and initiatives.
- Serve in a direct service role when necessary.
- Other related duties as assigned.
End Result:
The overarching end result of this leadership position is raising the funding & resources necessary to operate the programs and initiatives of the agency, that NEPA Inclusive will be recognized as a leader in inclusive services in all counties we operate services, and the agency will be able to supply the necessary direct service staff to support those who ask for our support.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, Nonprofit Management, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in development and marketing, with a proven track record of successful fundraising and marketing campaigns.
- Is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, and has the ability to achieve certifications as needed for agency business.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in donor management software and marketing tools.
- Ability to think strategically and creatively.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with donors, partners, and stakeholders.
- Experience working in the nonprofit sector is preferred.
- Frequent evening and weekend work required.
- Some travel may be necessary.
- Demonstrated success in fundraising initiatives.
- Experience working with people with intellectual disabilities, autism, or mental health disabilities preferred.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and computer skills, including knowledge of database management.
- Valid Driver’s License and Clean Driving Record.
- Must Pass Child Abuse History and Criminal Record Check Clearances and not be excluded from State of PA Exclusion Lists.
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in a related field and two (2) years of experience in development and marketing of non-profit organizations.
- Experience and knowledge of graphic design, marketing, and fundraising initiatives.
- Proficient in word processing and design-based computer software.
- Ability to write and communicate effectively to different audiences.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced office environment and as a member of a team.
- General understanding of people with disabilities and inclusive services for people with disabilities and ability to communicate that information to the public.
- Must Pass Child Abuse History and Criminal Record Check Clearances. Must not be on excluded lists for similar industries.
