Summary:

 

The Director, Digital Marketing supports our website to ensure successful interactions for millions of visitors, including ticket buyers, information seekers, donors, and staff. Working closely with the marketing, ticketing, and IT teams, the Director, Digital Marketing will discover, synthesize, and action website needs based on standard and evolving digital technologies, user-centric needs, and more to ensure a seamless experience for all guests. You will engage and understand key marketing and audience experience strategies to develop appropriate and efficient web-based solutions by coordinating the development, communication, and implementation of our web solutions.

 

The Director, Digital Marketing will guide and direct best practices and improvements in Search Engine Optimization, content, relevant reporting, requirements gathering and delegation, and process and procedures. You will oversee our Web Content and UX Manger in their day-to-day tasks, which focus on keeping the website content up to date.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Functions as the advocate for web-based communications; maintains state of the art knowledge in internet-based technologies, and provides insight, advice, and recommendations on future concepts, development, and direction of web services.  
  • Coordinate with departments to gather detailed requirements for web development projects
  • Guide and direct web content strategies, hierarchies, and taxonomies
  • Maintain style and consistency across the website and align with other marketing efforts
  • Guide and maintain SEO best practices to improve search engine rankings
  • Utilize various feedback channels to suggest and coordinate website solutions
  • Maintain and coordinate design, requirements and testing of new website features, ensuring design is optimized for all form factors (desktop, tablet and mobile)
  • Report regular, thorough, and actionable statistics and analytics to understand customer behavior, and to drive customer satisfaction, acquisition, and retention
  • Monitor and report on feedback channels and develop strategies for key user pain points
  • Develops procedures to continuously review and maintain the currency, accuracy, appropriateness, and accessibility of the website
  • Coordinates the overall production and creation of content for the website
  • Troubleshoots and resolves website problems in conjunction with other information technology staff

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • A consumer of web content––know the techniques that are most effective in engaging consumers
  • Employ a mobile-first strategy
  • Ability to test website elements and gain user feedback
  • Familiarity with web CMS platforms
  • Understanding of SEO/SEM principles and best practices
  • Experience with Google Analytics
  • Keen eye for appropriate and engaging UX and UI
  • Knowledge of WCAG/Web Accessibility standards
  • Some HTML knowledge a plus

 

Experience:

5-7 years working within a web-based role or other similar experience

 

Environment, Physical Demands, and Other Conditions:

Routine for office environment. Some nights/weekends may be required to assist with concerts/events.
