Job Title: Digital Print Operator

Position Summary:

The Digital Print Operator is responsible for producing attractive printed communication materials by using digital printers and a computer workstation.

This is a 2nd shift position operating Monday through Friday, 2:30pm - 11:00pm. 

Essential Functions:

  • Receives files in from Pre-Media department, order entry system or Project Management team and assigns to the appropriate machine. Prioritize as necessary.
  • Prepares files for printing including size, color, image adjustments, etc. 
  • Operates Konica Minolta C14000 as well as, Ricoh 9200 series, Ricoh 8320, and Merlin K146 Inkjet press. 
  • Reads job ticket to setup and operate a Horizon perfect binder, PBS 2800 Koilmatic, Rhin-O-Tuff Onyx HD-7700 punch, Fujipla Auto-laminator and the Challenge EH-3 drill, and Horizon creaser/folder.
  • Occasionally operates a cutter to provide finished products.
  • Process Orders via on-line ordering system.  This includes order acceptance through order delivery.
  • Process Orders via email and online order system. This includes order entry through order delivery (order entry, bindery, shrink-wrap and packaging).
  • Follow color machine calibration sequences throughout the day and spot checks for quality defects.
  • Responsible for maintaining consumable materials inventory.
  • Provide additional assistance with kitting and fulfillment (punching, spiraling, putting together kits).
  • Ensures that sensitive jobs match amounts records and/or sheet count/click count and marks check sheets. Makes corrections if off by any number. 
  • Understands and performs basic file imposition in various programs such as Metrix or pdf Snake. 
  • Follows Standard operating procedures (SOPs) for proper disposal of any PHI or PII material. 
  • Works with various outside contracted technicians to troubleshoot problems with machinery and keep machinery up and running. 
  • May assist in other departments on an as needed basis.
  • Responsible for following safety procedures in the plant including, but not limited to, Lock-out-tag-out, Hazard Communication, OSHA rules and regulations.
  • Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations. Maintain departmental housekeeping standards.
  • Maintains the highest level of security and confidentiality as defined by company policy.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Operations, Printing & Mailing and/or President / CEO.

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • HS diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous experience in print or finishing environment. 
  • Strongly prefer 1-3 years of previous experience. 
  • Must be able to multitask and run multiple machines at once as well as prioritize workload.
  • Basic understanding of working a desktop computer, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft products, etc.  
  • Complete all required training courses upon hire and annually thereafter.
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
  • Exclusion from the System for Award Management (SAM) List of Excluded Individuals and Entities (LEIE) prior to hire and ongoing throughout their tenure at the company. Inclusion in the LEIE is grounds for immediate dismissal.
