Job Summary Leverage strong written and verbal communications skills to strategically manage highly effective communications plans and tactics. Work collaboratively with NiSource executives and others in the NiSource Corporate Affairs Network to develop and execute integrated and highly effective communication strategies across the enterprise. Essential Functions Develop and implement strategic, integrated communications and employee engagement plans and tactics for NiSource using current and future internal and external communications channels. Develop and maintain relationships with key internal stakeholders including corporate departments and state communications teams. Provide communications counsel across all levels of the enterprise. Provide communications counsel and support to corporate departments as assigned Provide strategy to drive and enhance delivery of messages by various channels to customers, employees and other external audiences. Partner with state communicators to drive consistent and efficient messaging and branding Build relationships and collaborate with key partners in the organization Develop and execute on communications plans and strategies Required Qualifications For Position Bachelor's Degree in journalism, communications or business discipline 4-6 years Five to seven years of communication or journalism experience with emphasis on superior written communications skills Experience in a professional/corporate communications environment Ability to demonstrate leadership and project management in a team environment Superior writing skills Demonstrated ability to perform in a corporate environment Ability to identify and segment audiences and monitor emerging issues Proven PC skills and experience with Microsoft Office suite of tools Proven skills and experience in developing communications plans and strategy, with ability to assess messaging needs Ability to prioritize plans and projects, deal with ambiguity and effectively manage multiple tasks Demonstrated ability to perform in a deadline-oriented environment Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective business partnerships and provide communications counsel Understanding and experience using communications measurement tools Preferred Additional Qualifications for Position Public Relations experience Experience working closely and collaboratively with business partners including executive leadership External media relations experience Utility or other regulated industry experience Multi-channel, multi-media skills and experience Physical Demands The preceding description is not designed to be a complete list of all duties and responsibilities required of the position. Salary Range*: $110,200.00 - $165,300.00 *The salary offered to a candidate is based on several factors including but not limited to the candidate’s skills, job-related knowledge, and relevant experience, as well as internal pay equity.
