JOB SUMMARY
The Communications and PR Manager will help to create and promote the corporate identity and mission to customers, the public, and employees through the creation and distribution of brochures, news releases, and other documents.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Oversees and produces, from concept to completion, a broad array of digital and/or print promotional and communication materials for the organization.
  • Ensures that all materials present a clear, unified, and positive image for the organization and/or brand.
  • Plans, prepares, and distributes original promotional content such as articles, news and press releases, email, blog and social media posts, and other updates on behalf of the organization.
  • Promotes, organizes, and attends special events and functions; promotes and reports on corporate milestones and activities such as company goals and projects; new products or services; community service activities; and new hires, promotions, and retirements.
  • Arranges for photography and/or press coverage for special events.
  • Works with Senior Management to create and implement a plan for internal communications between departments at ACTION-Housing.
  • Assists with program communications with clients, tenants, and other stakeholders as needed.
  • Oversees website content.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. A bachelor’s degree in a related field is highly preferred.
  • Five years of experience in marketing, publications, or a related field required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Extremely proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and desktop publishing software.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • General Office Environment
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use a computer for extended periods of time and be able to communicate using a computer and phone/smart device.
  • The employee frequently is required to sit and reach and must be able to move around the work environment.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
