A vacancy exists for a Business, Computer and Information Technology Instructor within the Brandywine Virtual Academy Division at the Chester County Intermediate Unit in Downingtown, PA starting for the 2026-27 school year.
Our BCIT program is designed to prepare students for the rapidly evolving digital world by providing cutting-edge instruction in business technology, computer science fundamentals, and information systems. Qualifications
Minimum of a bachelor level degree in education required; Masters preferred
Experience teaching students in an online environment preferred
PDE teaching certificates in Business, Computer and Information Technology or Computer Science (7-12) required
PDE special education teaching certification preferred
Experience teaching Business and Computer technology preferred
Technology experience required.
In-depth experience using Learning Management Systems, Student Information Systems, learning design tools and platforms required.
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Current within one year FBI, PA State and Child Abuse Clearances
Duties & Responsibilities
Instruct individuals and groups in subject area(s) using both synchronous and asynchronous technology tools and platforms.
Provide specially designed instruction for eligible special education students
Plan curriculum and lessons, including developing courses, and both synchronous and asynchronous instruction, interventions and enrichment that incorporate current business and technology trends and industry-standard software applications
Evaluate and monitor student progress based on classroom performance, assessment scores, and observation of behavior
Support objectives and interventions of the educational program.
Maintain a safe virtual environment in the online classroom.
Maintain contact with parents of students and/or professionals concerning student progress
Contribute to IEPs addressing specific academic, behavioral, and speech needs of students
Prepare educational records, classroom observation records, and other documentation as required
Foster student competency in emerging technologies, digital communication, and technology-enhanced business practices
Lead assigned homerooms and Wellness Check-Ins

2026-2027 school year salary (based on experience):
Instructional I Certification- $62,155 to $89,730
Instructional II Certification- $64,834 to $93,324
Master's Degree - $69,353 to $101,911
Masters + 15- $72,740 to $105,924
Masters + 30- $74,415 to $107,845
