We are seeking a tech-savvy and creative Webmaster and Social Media Manager to maintain our digital presence and drive engagement across web and social platforms. This role combines technical website management with strategic social media execution to ensure a seamless and engaging online experience for our audience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for website design, creation, and Implementation
  • Experience with web development languages, frameworks, content management systems, and server-side scripting languages. 
  • The role involves troubleshooting technical issues, implementing design updates, and collaborating with content creators.
  • Maintain, update, and optimize the Cheyney University website (CMS platforms like WordPress, Drupal, etc.).
  • Ensure website functionality, performance, and security.
  • Monitor site traffic, SEO performance, and user experience using tools like Google Analytics and Search Console.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to implement new features and design updates.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve website issues promptly.
  • Manage hosting, domain, and SSL certificates.
  • Develop and execute social media strategies across platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn).
  • Create, schedule, and publish engaging content (text, images, video).
  • Monitor social media trends, audience engagement, and analytics to optimize performance.
  • Respond to comments, messages, and mentions in a timely and professional manner.
  • Collaborate with marketing manager and content teams to align messaging and campaigns.
  • Track KPIs and prepare monthly performance reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Web Development, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience managing websites and social media accounts.
  • Proficiency in CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress), HTML/CSS basics, and SEO best practices.
  • Familiarity with social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer, Sprout Social).
  • Strong writing, editing, and visual storytelling skills.
  • Analytical mindset with experience using tools like Google Analytics, Meta Business Suite, etc.
  • Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and work independently or collaboratively.
Preferred Skills:
  • Web design and development.
  • Graphic design skills (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite).
  • Experience with paid social media advertising.
  • Knowledge of accessibility and web compliance standards (e.g., WCAG).
  • Basic video editing skills.
