This is an exciting leadership role as Earlham seeks to reposition itself within higher education, leveraging its reputation for a morally centered, globally minded education. The VP will craft compelling stories and lead a talented team to elevate the college's profile and success. Principal Responsibilities Provide strategic leadership for brand, marketing, and communications aligned with the college's mission and goals. Manage the marketing and communications department, staff, and programs to enhance Earlham's reputation, awareness, enrollment, and fundraising. Specific Duties Build relationships with college leadership, faculty, staff, and students to understand Earlham's culture and needs. Lead brand and audience research; ensure consistency across platforms; steward the college's brand. Integrate all marketing functions into a cohesive strategy aligned with institutional goals. Advance digital initiatives, including content, storytelling, and social media, to optimize engagement and lead acquisition. Collaborate with admissions and advancement to design programs that increase awareness, leads, and engagement. Partner with development teams to boost donor engagement and support. Advise the president and leadership on marketing strategies; serve as the college's spokesperson; oversee external agencies. Develop data-driven campaigns across channels to improve reputation, enrollment, and fundraising, with ongoing optimization. Manage communications strategies, including media relations and crisis communication. Lead and oversee the marketing and communications team, including performance management. Utilize metrics to evaluate and refine marketing efforts. Oversee major campus events, ensuring alignment with college priorities. Monitor external environment for opportunities and threats; lead crisis communication planning. Qualifications We seek candidates with: Proven success in marketing and communications roles, with a track record of impactful programs. Experience in complex, collaborative environments, preferably higher education. Expertise in digital marketing, social media, content, SEO, and audience segmentation. Inspirational leadership and mentoring skills. Strong media relations, crisis, and internal communication skills. A passion for liberal arts education, community, and athletics.
