About the Role:

The Technical Writer will be responsible for creating, updating, and maintaining comprehensive documentation for processes, procedures, and compliance requirements related to NERC CIP, ISO 27001, UL standards, and other industry certifications. Your work will play a key role in ensuring that our operations meet regulatory requirements, maintain operational excellence, and adhere to best practices.

Accountable For:

As a Technical Writer, you will be accountable for building and maintaining a centralized knowledge base for compliance, operational, and certification-related documentation.

Responsibilities

  • General knowledge of Battery Energy Storage Systems, cybersecurity fundamentals, Operational Technology (OT), and Information Technology (IT)

  • Familiarity with compliance standards and regulations such as NERC CIP, ISO 27001, and UL certifications

  • Ensure all applicable documentation aligns with compliance requirements for standards such as NERC CIP, ISO 27001, UL, and other relevant certifications

  • Interface with internal teams such as Software Engineering, Field Service, Cybersecurity, IT, and Operations to gather existing practices and procedures to be formally documented into required policies

  • Develop, edit, revise, and maintain technical documentation, including procedures, process guides, compliance materials, and training guides

  • Perform regular reviews and updates to ensure documentation reflects current processes, standards, and regulatory changes

  • Create visual aids, such as diagrams and workflows, to support written documentation

  • Establish and maintain a structured documentation framework and repository for easy access and version control

  • Deliver documentation in alignment with project timelines, ensuring documentation is available prior to certification audits or operational rollouts

  • Additional indirect but related assignments from the supervisor

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with the ability to present technical information in a clear and accessible manner.

  • Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text and pictures

  • Excellent written skills in English

  • Proficiency with documentation tools such as Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, or specialized tools like SharePoint, Jira, Confluence, or Visio

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Education and Experience

  • Minimum 5 years' experience

  • Proven experience (5+ years) as a technical writer, preferably in the energy, technology, or industrial sectors.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Technical Writing, Engineering, or similar field required.

  • Office Environment - Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time and occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.Β  Required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading. May be required to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body
