As a Risk Management Oversight Lead for Credit and Cobranded Cards in the Consumer & Business Banking Risk Management group, you’ll work with the risk team to monitor strategic investments and new co-brand initiatives, generating thoughtful analytics and recommendations to risk and business executives regarding strategy, performance, and alignment with risk appetite, ensuring consistency with initial investment expectations.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain periodic monitoring to provide management with comprehensive insights into emerging trends and the performance of strategic investments and co-brand initiatives.
- Attain a detailed understanding of key performance metrics and profitability drivers for strategic investments and co-brand partnerships, enabling the delivery of actionable insights across the investment lifecycle.
- Acquire a strong understanding of the practices and strategies of the investee companies, in order to provide context to executives.
- Conduct ad hoc analyses and support risk executives with relevant information for their participation in discussions related to strategic investments and co-brand initiatives.
- Reliably represent the interests of other internal stakeholders in risk management
- Deconstruct and explain complex concepts and issues in a business-friendly manner to senior/executive management
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Minimum 6 years of risk management or financial services experience
- Credit risk experience in one or more U.S. consumer credit portfolios preferred
- Knowledge of financial procedures and principles, with a strong understanding of consumer lending
- Strong proficiency in preparing executive-level presentation materials and briefings, with the ability to simplify complex subjects into clear, objective executive communications
- Excellent analytical, interpretive, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret large amounts of data and assess its impact on both operational and financial areas
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, essential for presenting to and collaborating with risk and business partners, including the ability to explain and present analyses
- Strong knowledge of Python, SAS, and SQL preferred
- Experience partnering across different functions
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline such as Statistics, Economics, or Finance
