Supports the development and execution of strategic public relations initiatives that reinforce our brand and system narrative, engage a wide variety of external audiences and support WellSpan's priorities. Crafts clear, compelling communications across multiple channels and has an ability to support high-impact projects with both strategic understanding and strong tactical execution. Contributes to an integrated, collaborative, data-driven Public Relations team that is known for high reliability and excellence in execution. Must be exceptional interviewers and writers, enjoy executing events, and being part of a highly collaborative, innovative, and data-driven Marketing and Communications function.
ResponsibilitiesDuties and Responsibilities

Essential Functions:
- Plans, writes, edits and produces content for external audiences for various communications mediums, media releases, blogs, Op-Eds, white papers, social media, etc.
- Partners with the Program Leads of Media Relations, Social Media, Community Engagement and Thought Leadership to develop and execute plans.
- Aids in the creative execution of PR activities to enhance brand reputation and engagement.
- Provides event support, media escorts and other onsite support as needed.
- Coordinates the execution plan for special projects, special events and meetings to meet system goals and objectives.
- Supports crisis communication efforts.
- Participates in assessing the quality and effectiveness of PR efforts and contributes ideas for future activities.
- Continuously scans the internal and external environment/industry trends, understands the organizationβs major strategic and operating priorities and helps to identify and recommend relevant public relations opportunities.
- Responsible for arranging photography and videography of system functions and other related activities.
- Utilizes strong project management skills to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.

Travel Requirements:
- Estimated Amount: 15% - Periodic travel required primarily for meetings, trainings, and periodic visits to clients, project sites, or system locations.
QualificationsQualifications
Minimum Education:
- Bachelors Degree In Communications, Journalism or related field. Required
Work Experience:
- 5 years Experience in communications or related field. Required
- Communications experience in a large, complex healthcare organization. Preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Excellent written/oral communications, interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Strong computer skills and willingness to embrace new technology and artificial intelligence.
- Strong journalistic writing, copyediting and project management skills.
- Familiarity with internal communications platforms and tools (e.g., Yammer, intranet systems).
- Strong project management and organization abilities.
