The Principal Graphic Designer II for Communications is a senior-level role within the Montgomery County Planning Commission, responsible for leading high-impact communication projects and supporting the coordination of communications and design work across the department. This position brings deep expertise both print and digital design, contributes to agency-wide branding strategies, and provides technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff. The Principal Graphic Designer II for Communication plays a key role in translating complex planning concepts into clear, engaging visuals for public outreach, policy reports, and cross-agency communications.
The position requires the individual to be proficient in communication skills, especially writing, proofreading, editing, and the design and creation of high-quality, engaging and innovative social media posts, publications, brochures, and newsletters for print and digital platforms. This position also seeks the individual to potentially utilize skills in photography, video creation and editing, and website updates and management.

ScheduleMonday – Friday, Flexible schedules ranging from 7:30 AM – 6:00 PM; occasional evenings required. This position is eligible for Hybrid Remote work with a minimum of 3 days in-office.
