Our Morgage Loan Underwriters are responsible for performing administrative and underwriting duties to support the mortgage loan function; acquiring intricate knowledge of underwriting and selling guidelines, especially those associated with the secondary market; achieving goals as established in the Bankβs business objectives; coordinating work within the department, as well as with other departments; complying with operating policies and procedures established for the mortgage loan function; communicating with appropriate personnel; and maintaining appropriate records and providing assigned reports.

Education/Training: Associates Degree or equivalent knowledge normally required; specialized bank education/training related to mortgage lending.
Skill(s): Must demonstrate strong communication skills; proficient interpersonal relations skills; moderate analytical skills; demonstrated organizational skills; proficient PC skills, including knowledge of loan related software; proficient knowledge of underwriting, including credit and compliance calculation and testing; proficient knowledge of applicable lending laws and regulations, i.e., Reg B, Reg Z, and Fair Credit Reporting Act; knowledge of HUD-1 and closing documents.
Experience: A minimum of five (5) years of related mortgage loan experience normally required.
