Marketing Specialist

As part of a dynamic Marketing Department, the primary role of the Marketing Specialist is to coordinate quality brand projects across multiple channels, including but not limited to advertisements, sponsorships, sales collateral, and industry thought leadership. The Marketing Specialist organizes PLM’s advertising schedule, including both print and digital publications, and coordinates with graphic designer on creative and engaging branding ideas. The Marketing Specialist is also instrumental in managing relationships and collaborating with internal business units, public relations agencies, and industry associations and buying groups.

Responsibilities

  • Develop print and digital advertisements, sales collateral, prospecting content, customized messaging, and safety materials
  • Liaise with graphic designer to create branding ideas, graphic designs, promotional materials, and advertising copy
  • Manage relationship with public relations agency and publication contacts
  • Act as project manager for targeted marketing campaigns and large-scale brand projects
  • Build and maintain lumber and building material association and buying group relationships 
  • Investigate performance of marketing campaigns and strategies through evaluating key performance metrics 
  • Build knowledge of products, coverages, and industry to support creation of high-quality marketing outputs
  • Communicate and educate employees on marketing efforts and materials to gain buy-in and create brand ambassadors
  • Attend and participate in trade shows and industry events as required
  • Lead or participate in various marketing initiatives and strategic projects

The Marketing Specialist has a strong understanding of marketing strategies, both print and digital, and recognizes how to connect the dots between concept and deliverable. The Marketing Specialist is mindful and passionate about PLM’s brand, reputation, and distinct voice. The Marketing Specialist must also be enthusiastic about developing content, growing existing external relationships, and acting as an integral part of strategic projects. As part of the Marketing team, the Marketing Specialist is often required to collaborate on initiatives, act as a secondary resource for peers, and ensure that all active projects align to a common goal.


Position Requirements

· Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or business major

· 2-4 years of either property/casualty experience or direct B2B marketing experience

· Demonstrated ownership of advertising campaigns including design, vendor oversight, and strategic alignment

· Experience with graphic design programs, proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud a plus

· Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation)

· Excellent organizational and prioritization skills with self-starter approach

· Experience managing relationships with vendors, associations, and partners preferred

· Experience with event management, social media, and customer relationship management systems a plus

· Fundamental understanding of commercial insurance or brokerage operations a plus

· Commitment to fulfilling company continuing education requirement
