Marketing Manager Job Overview
The Marketing Manager will serve as a key strategic leader responsible for driving digital marketing performance and advancing the full-cycle retail experience across Faulkner Automotive Group. This role blends strategic oversight with hands-on execution and partner management, ensuring that marketing efforts translate into measurable business outcomes.
This individual will lead initiatives that enhance digital retailing capabilities, improve website conversion performance, and optimize the customer journey from online engagement through dealership interaction. The Marketing Manager will work closely with internal teams, dealership leadership, and external advertising partners to align marketing strategy with goals and evolving digital consumer experiences.
Marketing Manager Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and execution of digital marketing strategies across paid media, third-party platforms, and OEM programs.
- Oversee and manage external advertising partners and vendors, ensuring alignment with performance goals and accountability for results.
- Drive continuous improvement in website performance, including user experience, lead generation, and conversion optimization across SRPs, VDPs, and landing pages.
- Play a leadership role in advancing digital retailing initiatives, supporting a seamless online-to-offline purchase experience.
- Analyze marketing performance data and provide strategic recommendations to improve efficiency, scalability, and ROI.
- Establish clear performance expectations for campaigns and partners, ensuring data-driven decision-making.
- Manage, mentor, and develop two direct reports, fostering a high-performance and accountable team culture.
- Collaborate with dealership leadership to align marketing strategies with sales objectives and operational priorities.
- Identify, evaluate, and implement new tools, technologies, and channels to improve marketing effectiveness and customer experience.
- Stay informed on emerging trends in automotive retail, digital marketing, and consumer behavior.
Tools & Technology Environment
The Marketing Manager will be expected to leverage and optimize a range of platforms, including but not limited to:
- Website & Digital Retailing Platforms (e.g., Roadster, Dealer.com, OEM platforms)
- CRM & DMS Systems (e.g., CDK, VinSolutions, or similar)
- Analytics & Reporting Tools (e.g., Google Analytics 4, Google Tag Manager, Tableau, Iterable/SFMC)
- Advertising Platforms (Google Ads, Meta Ads, third-party automotive marketplaces)
- Call tracking, chat, and lead management tools
- Microsoft Office Suite and reporting tools
Qualifications & Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, Business, or related field required
Experience:
- 5–8+ years of experience in digital or performance marketing
- Experience managing external agencies or marketing partners with accountability for results
- Experience in automotive, retail, or high-volume lead generation environments strongly preferred
- Prior experience leading or mentoring team members
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong strategic mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable marketing decisions
- Deep understanding of digital advertising, lead generation, and conversion optimization
- Familiarity with digital retailing tools and evolving automotive customer journeys
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on measurable outcomes
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
