The purpose of the marketing internship is to provide hands-on experience in the marketing field, allowing interns to apply their academic knowledge to real-world marketing operations. It helps interns gain practical skills, build a professional network, and clarify their career goals within the marketing industry. Additionally, internships can be pivotal in preparing individuals for future marketing careers by providing valuable insights and experiences.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
Social Media Content Creation
Assist in developing, writing, and designing engaging content for social media platforms including Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Facebook, and X.
Content Scheduling and Publishing
Use scheduling tools (Buffer) to plan, post, and maintain a consistent social media presence.
Community Engagement
Monitor social channels, respond to comments and messages, and help grow online engagement and follower communities.
Campaign Support
Support the execution of digital campaigns, promotions, and paid social advertising efforts.
Analytics and Reporting
Track key performance metrics (engagement, reach, impressions, clicks) and assist in preparing monthly reports with insights and recommendations.
Trend Monitoring
Stay current with social media trends, viral content, and competitor activity to help identify new opportunities for brand engagement.
Content Library Management
Organize and update the library of marketing assets, including images, videos, templates, and approved brand content.
Collaboration
Work closely with marketing and design teams to ensure brand voice, tone, and visual identity are consistent across all digital platforms.
Administrative Support
Provide general assistance to the digital marketing team, including meeting notes, campaign planning materials, and research tasks
Assumes responsibility for miscellaneous duties as assigned by supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: BS/BA in Marketing, Business or related field.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge of Marketing and Creative Team operations and procedures. Basic understanding of insurance and agent relationship. Thorough understanding of the creative process, including internal and carrier approval processes. Proven experience as a marketing assistant. Good understanding of office management and marketing principles. Demonstrable ability to multi-task and adhere to deadlines. Well-organized with a customer-oriented approach. Good knowledge of market research techniques and databases. Excellent knowledge of MS Office, marketing computer software and online applications (CRM tools, Online analytics, Google Adwords etc.). Exquisite communication and people skills.
