Description

The Marketing Manager, Insurance Practices, at Cozen O'Connor will lead strategic marketing and business development initiatives for the firm's multiple insurance practice groups. This role supports a nationally recognized insurance platform, including Insurance Coverage & Claims, Casualty & Specialty Lines Coverage, Professional Liability Insurance Coverage, and Subrogation & Recovery, working with partners and practice leadership to expand client relationships, enhance industry visibility, and drive business growth.

Key Responsibilities

Practice Group Marketing & Strategy

  • Develop and implement annual marketing and business development plans for Cozen O'Connor's insurance practices, aligning them with the firm's strategy.
  • Serve as a strategic marketing partner to practice leaders across coverage & claims, professional liability, casualty & specialty lines, and subrogation groups.
  • Provide counsel on market positioning, branding, and client engagement tailored to each insurance discipline's unique client base. 

Client Development & Industry Engagement

  • Support client targeting and insurance-specific growth strategies.
  • Assist insurance practice teams with RFPs, panel submissions, pitch materials, and carrier-centric presentations.
  • Plan and execute insurance industry events, sponsor opportunities, conferences, and webinars tailored to insurance practitioners and clients. 

Market Intelligence & Competitive Analysis

  • Track trends and developments in insurance coverage litigation, bad faith claims, casualty exposures, professional liability risk, and subrogation topics.
  • Conduct competitive analysis of peer firms' insurance practices and market positioning to inform strategy.
  • Prepare market insights to support attorney strategy and client outreach. 

Thought Leadership & Content Development

  • Collaborate with attorneys to develop and promote thought leadership across insurance practice areas, including alerts, articles, client updates, and white papers.
  • Manage submissions to insurance-focused legal directories and rankings (e.g., Chambers Insurance, Legal 500 Insurance).
  • Coordinate speaking engagements, insurance trade show participation, and media opportunities. 

Collaboration & Execution

  • Work with internal business development, digital marketing, and communications teams to deliver coordinated campaigns that raise Cozen O'Connor's profile in the insurance sector.
  • Track and report on the effectiveness of marketing and business development.
  • Support attorney coaching on business development best practices across insurance disciplines.

 



Qualifications

  • 5–8+ years of marketing and/or business development experience in a law firm, insurance company, or professional services environment.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting insurance-related legal or professional services practices (coverage, casualty, or subrogation).
  • Demonstrated understanding of the insurance industry.
  • Strong writing, project management, and communication skills.

Preferred

  • Experience marketing to insurance carriers, claims professionals, brokers, or third-party administrators.
  • Familiarity with legal directory submissions, industry sponsorships, and rankings relevant to insurance practice groups.
  • Experience using CRM, analytics, and competitive intelligence tools in a professional services setting.
