We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Engineering Documentation Specialist/Writer with a strong background in creating, managing, and editing technical documents for engineering teams. The ideal candidate will collaborate with engineers, project managers, and stakeholders to develop high-quality documentation that effectively communicates technical information to diverse audiences. This is a 3 month contract to hire.
Responsibilities:
Documentation Development:
Create, update, and maintain engineering documents, including specifications, technical manuals, process guides, test procedures, and design documentation.
Translate complex technical concepts and processes into clear, concise, and user-friendly content.
Collaboration and Review:
Work closely with engineers, designers, and project teams to gather technical information.
Review and edit content provided by subject matter experts (SMEs) to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency.
Documentation Management:
Develop and maintain templates, style guides, and documentation standards.
Organize and manage document libraries to ensure easy retrieval and proper version control.
Technical Accuracy:
Verify technical details and ensure all documentation adheres to company and industry standards.
Update documents in response to engineering changes, regulatory requirements, or process improvements.
Tools and Software:
Utilize documentation tools, content management systems (CMS), and software such as Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and CAD software to create and manage documents.
Work with version control systems (e.g., Git) for document updates.
