DescriptionThe Philadelphia office of Cozen O’Connor is looking for a Director of Practice Group Marketing to work with the attorneys in the Commercial Litigation Department (“Department”) comprised of business litigation, construction litigation and other specialty litigation practices, to brand and raise the national profile of the practices, and drive cross-selling and new business development. Target audience includes in-house counsels, heads of litigation, and c-suite executives.
The Director will also oversee the development and implementation of marketing plans for Department attorneys. This position will report to the Chief Marketing Officer in Philadelphia, and may require intermittent travel.
The position will be located in Philadelphia, PA and will be managed by department leaders.
Practice Group Marketing & Strategy
- Work with Practice Group leaders in the development of strategic business development goals for the specialty litigation Practices comprising the Department as a whole.
- Drive the development and execution of all branding, marketing and business development-related initiatives for the Department, including individual attorneys in the Department.
- Understand and support all aspects of the pitch process, including utilizing competitive intelligence.
- Maintain client pitch materials, attorney bios, practice descriptions, and other promotional and collateral materials.
- Work with individual members of the department in the creation and implementation of independent business development plans.
- Manage attorney award submissions to outside publications.
- Coordinate speaking engagements, writing and media opportunities.
- Support client development seminars, firm-sponsored events and conferences
Key Competencies
QualificationsRequired
- 10+ years of marketing and/or business development experience in a law firm, or professional services environment.
- Demonstrated experience supporting litigation or professional services practices.
- Demonstrated understanding of the legal industry.
- Strong writing, project management, and communication skills.
Preferred
- Experience marketing to in-house counsel and c-suite executives.
- Experience using CRM, analytics, and competitive intelligence tools in a professional services setting.
