We’re seeking an experienced, energetic, and results driven Director of Marketing and Communications to join our team. The Director of Marketing and Communications is responsible for the brand stewardship of Catholic Charities and leads all aspects of paid, earned, and owned media strategy and implementation. The Director of Marketing and Communications is a high profile, internally and externally facing position that will drive revenue development and expand and diversify audiences and cultivate brand reputation. This position supervises the Creative Design Lead.

Key Performance Objectives Include:
Earned Media:
- Manage Internal and External Communications and Crisis Communications including media relations.
- Serve as the primary of contact and spokesperson and arrange for other Catholic Charities representatives when appropriate.
- Build relationships with local and regional journalists (print, online, TV, radio)
- Create and implements earned media campaigns; work streams include setting goals strategies and tactics, pitching and securing stories, writing media alerts, press releases, and interview briefs, and coordinating and staffing press events and interviews.
- Provide media training and develop key messaging with colleagues.
- Responsible for drafting employee newsletters.
Paid Media:
- Create and implement all traditional and digital paid media campaigns for the organization related to fundraising appeals, events, campaigns, and overall brand awareness. This involves setting goals, strategies, and tactics, executing campaigns and monitoring, optimizing and reporting on performance.
- Build and maintain relationships with media account representatives.
- Create and implement Search Engine Marketing strategies.
- In collaboration with the Development Plan and organizational goals, oversee the creation of creative content including videos, appeals, annual reports, campaign materials, flyers, invitations, ads, etc.
Owned Media:
- Develop and lead an organic social media strategy and content across platforms to grow audience and engagement.
- Create and oversee a strategic annual social media calendar.
- Monitor and report on social media statistics.
- Oversee and create strategic web content to enhance the user experience.
- Create strategic email marketing content that aligns with organizational and development goals.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, or a related field is required.
- A minimum of eight years of marketing and communication experience is required (experience with a non-profit organization is highly desirable).
- A minimum of three years of supervisory experience is required.
- A demonstrated history of producing compelling and results driven marketing plans is required.
- Excellent written and oral communication, and proofreading skills are required.
- Excellent public speaking and presentation skills are required.
- A demonstrated professional record of creativity with the ability to be flexible and modify strategies as requested is required.
- The ability to manage multiple projects from inception to completion is required.
- Must be comfortable working as part of a team, but also independently.
- Act 33/34 clearances required.
