Help Hope Live (www.helphopelive.org) is a national nonprofit with four decades of medical fundraising experience, providing a trusted, tax-deductible way to support a loved one or neighbor in need. We are looking for a Director of Communications to join our senior management team. The Director of Communications provides strategic leadership in shaping and sustaining a positive public image for Help Hope Live and its programs. This role is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive annual marketing and communications plan that advances the organization’s mission and visibility.
This is a hybrid position that primarily operates remotely but requires occasional in-person presence at the main office and surrounding areas, as needed.

About You:
Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations, or related field—or equivalent professional experience
7-10 years of progressive experience in communications, marketing, or public relations—ideally with a focus on leading strategic communications for a brand, nonprofit, or mission-driven organization
Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience with demonstrated ability to lead and mentor diverse teams
Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with a strong command of tone, voice, and audience engagement
Proficient in web content management, email marketing, media monitoring, and using analytics tools to drive data-informed decisions
Strong visual sensibility with proven ability to apply and uphold brand guidelines
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator), Canva, Facebook Ad Manager, and Google Analytics
Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
Creative thinker with a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset and a collaborative approach

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Strategic Communication & Brand Strategy:
Develop and execute a comprehensive communications plan that aligns with the organization's strategic priorities, enhances brand visibility, and strengthens engagement with key stakeholders
Promote consistent branding, marketing, and communications standards across the organization
Manage the development, distribution, and maintenance of print, digital, and branded materials and apparel
Design, write, edit, and direct marketing communications for email, print, web, blog, and social media
Public Relations:
Serve as the lead media contact and advisor to the executive director on media strategy
Help expand current levels of awareness and recognition to position Help Hope Live as a premier resource and thought leader
Schedule media interviews and speaking engagements for the executive director, brand Ambassadors, and other key stakeholders
Travel locally and nationally to attend conferences and events as needed to represent Help Hope Live
Digital Media & Web Strategy:
Develop and coordinate engaging video content to promote Help Hope Live’s mission and client fundraising campaigns
Prepare impactful PowerPoint presentations, talking points, and speeches for outreach and fundraising events
Monitor and evaluate website and social media analytics to guide data-driven marketing and communications strategies
Manage relationship and budget for third-party marketing agency to implement SEO strategies, manage Google Ad Grant, and explore Paid Search opportunities to increase the visibility and drive conversions
Events:
Oversee the branding, promotion, and execution of annual campaigns and events, including Live It Up!, Hope Travels, GivingTuesday, Hope in Action, and more
Leverage events to drive storytelling, increase mission awareness, and foster meaningful connections
Team Management:
Supervise and manage the Communications department staff and lead the volunteer Marketing Committee
Participate in Senior Management meetings
Assume other duties as assigned
