Job Description

The Marketing and Communications department at Chatham is seeking students to serve as Digital Media Ambassadors for the 2025-2026 academic year. Under the direction of the Social Media Specialist and Marketing Director, these ambassadors will serve as student representatives on Chatham’s social media channels, appearing in and assisting in the creation of social media content to bring authentic student voices to the platforms.  

Job Duties  

Appear in Instagram Reel videos giving tours, highlighting campus, etc. 

Create fun, engaging content that speaks to the student population (i.e. challenges, poll questions, trends, etc.)  

Conduct takeovers on Instagram Stories to showcase life as a Chatham student and/or cover staple campus events  

Collaborate with campus departments/partners to provide holistic view of campus life 

Utilize Canva to create graphics to accompany social posts 

Participate in and contribute to team-wide monthly content brainstorming meetings and other meetings as needed 

Other duties as assigned  

Qualifications  

Sophomore, junior, senior, or graduate student of any major  

Excellent written and oral communication skills 

Must be comfortable with public speaking and appearing on camera or asking others to appear in content  

Experience managing social media channels for internship, job, or campus club preferred but not required  

This position must be completed Monday-Friday during the hours of 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., unless social media coverage for an evening/weekend event is arranged in advance. Two hours of in-office work will be required per week in the Office of Marketing & Communications at Beatty House on Shadyside Campus. Additional work can be completed on campus or remotely at the discretion of the supervisor. Hours will vary depending on content needs, roughly 5-10 hours per week. Compensation is $11 per hour.
