The Marketing and Communications department at Chatham is seeking a student to serve as Digital Media Ambassador for the 2026-2027 academic year. Under the direction of the Social Media Specialist and Marketing Director, the ambassador will serve as a student representative on Chatham’s social media channels, appearing in and assisting in the creation of social media content to bring authentic student voices to the platforms.   

 

Job Duties  

  • Appear in Instagram Reel videos giving tours, interviewing students, highlighting campus, etc.  

  • Create fun, engaging content that speaks to the student population (i.e. challenges, poll questions, trends, etc.)   

  • Conduct takeovers on Instagram Stories to showcase life as a Chatham student and/or cover staple campus events   

  • Collaborate with campus departments/partners to provide holistic view of campus life  

  • Utilize Canva to create graphics to accompany social posts  

  • Participate in and contribute to team-wide monthly content brainstorming meetings and other meetings as needed  

  • Other duties as assigned   

 

Qualifications  

  • Sophomore, junior, senior, or graduate student of any major   

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills  

  • Must be comfortable with public speaking and appearing on camera or asking others to appear in content   

  • Experience managing social media channels for internship, job, or campus club preferred but not    

 

This position must be completed Monday-Friday during the hours of 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., unless social media coverage for an evening/weekend event is arranged in advance. Two hours of in-office work will be  per week in the Office of Marketing & Communications at Beatty House on Shadyside Campus. Additional work can be completed on campus or remotely at the discretion of the supervisor. Hours will vary depending on content needs, roughly 5-10 hours per week. Compensation is $11 per hour.  

All current student employees should notify their other manager(s) if you work multiple jobs on campus at the same time. Additionally, students may not work more than 20 hours per week (combined between all campus jobs) during the academic year. Students may not exceed 980 work hours per calendar year.

Student jobs do not automatically roll over to the next academic year or summer.
