Position Summary
The Digital Content Specialist is responsible for supporting communications and marketing efforts, specifically content development strategies and content creation, for a portfolio of online non-credit professional education programs. He/She/They must be a strong writer, with a developed understanding of SEO strategies and tactics, and will be responsible for SEO -driven content development and ideation across platforms including web pages, landing pages, emails, text messaging video scripts, infographics, emails, and social and digital advertising to support SEO , marketing and lead generation efforts. The Content Specialist will work alongside communication marketing and higher education leaders and faculty to develop brand-focused content that supports university enrollment goals. Duties And Responsibilities
Collaborates with and supports the UCM Director of Adult and Professional Education Marketing with communications and marketing efforts, specifically content development strategies and content creation, for a portfolio of online non-credit professional education programs. He/She/They must be a strong writer, with a developed understanding of SEO strategies and tactics, and will focus on SEO -driven content development and ideation across platforms including web pages, landing pages, text messaging, video scripts, infographics, emails, and social and digital advertising to support SEO , marketing and lead generation efforts. Participate in timely discussions of content performance metrics and adjust/update/optimize content as needed based on analytics and SEO management tool performance. Work alongside communication marketing and higher education leaders to develop brand-focused content that supports university enrollment goals. Closely coordinates with UCM web content team and University IT for web content strategy, design via Adobe Experience Manager ( AEM ) and execution as well as effective use of the University’s CRM (Slate). Collaborates with UCM areas – marketing, design, etc. – to generate creative content for specific digital marketing recruitment. Works with agency partners to develop, refine and flex creative content to support marketing, brand, and enrollment goals. Upholds and integrates the Villanova brand into all program content development. Performs other duties and assists with projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required. The candidate must have 3 or more years of digital marketing experience in content development. Must have demonstrated metrics-driven success in achieving goals and objectives. The individual selected must be a team player with strong communication, project management and problem-solving skills. He/She/They must be an excellent relationship builder within the organization and with external vendors. Must have proven experience developing content for digital campaigns and ability to manage several projects simultaneously, in a deadline-driven environment. He/She/They must have strong organization, multi-tasking abilities with superior attention to detail. Must be a flexible, upbeat, energetic self-starter who enjoys collaboration. The individual must have a deep commitment to the well-being of the University and a commitment to the University’s Catholic/Augustinian heritage, the advancement of its mission and to serving the needs of a diverse community. The individual must have proven expertise writing and editing compelling content to generate web traffic and convert leads. Strong understanding of the importance of SEO in the lead generation process. He/She/They must be highly proficient in digital advertising, i.e. Facebook, Google, LinkedIn, Instagram, etc. Candidate should have a good understanding of Google Search Console, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager and other digital marketing analytics tools. Interactive/web/mobile know-how ( HTML , CSS ), use of AEM as content management system, video experience and understanding of UX and CX required. PC and MAC platforms; server technology.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree preferred in marketing, communications, advertising, journalism or a related field. Certification in digital marketing or marketing technology a plus. Experience within an academic environment preferred.
